Jason are you up for Rolling out the discussion group in your training. I will get you a great little 15-30 second teaser about why it should be read or listened to...

So if we agree that EMOTION is the strongest influencer in decision making and LOGIC is less prominent and we all agree that Women are More Emotional than men.........
SarahLittle - 7:25 PM on Jul. 1, 2008 reply | message
But who's to say what is logical or what we pass of as reasonable because of an emotional decision? Take self storage, for instance. There really is rarely "logic" in paying $100 a month to store junk. By the time you sort it out and have paid four or five months rent (let alone a few years) you could've bought something newer, nicer or paid off debt...

I predict the self storage industry will have to appeal to people's emotion much more before the bubble burst and prices fall for the basics like food and gas.

I hear Wessa'l talking to a customer today and she turned the customer around and got a reservation by appealing to the customer's emotion about their situation.

1) The article made some good points, but I don't think people rely ENTIRELY on emotions. I think there is still a lot to be said for just plain logic and common sense.
2) Yes. I recently switched my Internet provider for some of the 7 trigger reasons. I was constantly having problems with my original provider, so I called around to shop and compare. I was only comparing companies when I was assisted by a very friendly and professionally sounding person, that convinced me to change services right then and there. The jury is still out as to whether that was a good decision....

Discussion Questions for the 7 Triggers to Yes… ( I will post 1 or 2 a day for us to ponder...)

1) Do you agree with the research that people make decisions through their emotions rather than through logic?

2) Can you think of any examples from your own life where you have made a decision based on one of the 7 triggers? Was that a good decision? Why or why not?
