I really do not like being at home during the day in my parents’ home, because you are obligated to do work.  Not that they yell, complain, or force me to do chores, but it is a given that if I am at home, I need to cook, clean, help the children with their homework, or do something conducive to the house. Today, and for the majority of the week, I am to help redo the deck. Major duty! This entails a lot. The major obligation is to find some secure storage for the deck furniture. Afterwards, I must power wash the deck, and sand it, until all of the paint and staining is completely removed. Then, I have to wash it again, let it dry, and stain it. Then I must give it a day to dry and stain it a second time. Ugh! I dislike painting and staining as much as I dislike eating lima beans. That says a lot about what I think of lima beans. Then, my step dad and I are going to build self organizers that will be the same color as the deck that will house the water hose, kid’s toys etc. Finally, I will take the furniture out of storage and put it back up. I image that this will be a weeklong chore that I am not prepared for. Fun times!
