Today is my birthday and I am going to get so many presents that I need to rent a storage unit to keep them all. A lot of people are coming to my party and I told them there are two rules, Look Good but not too good, and bring me lots of presents. Not really. I am not even having a party. I am getting sushi with my parents tonight. Mmmm sushi. I have the same birthday as Jacques Cousteau and Shia Le Beouf.

July 4th, the day of country got its freedom and also the day that we pop fire crackers. Many Americans around the united states will be grilling and setting off fire crackers to uphold the tradition. But what we must keep in mind is the safety factor of these flammable items. When you are done popping them off make sure you have a safe storage place for them to be placed because if not there may be a good chance that something could ignite that fire cracker so be careful and have fun on our Independence day.

I have a little turtle, his name is Tiny Tim, I put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim. He drank up all the water, he ate a bowl of porridge he left behind hits tug boat toy that i put into boat storage .

Tron and Monte rescued a little kitty from the bumper of the company car today. The intern here adopted the little kitty and is giddy about having his first pet. From the look and sound of it, I would say Little Kitty is healthy - got a healthy pair of lungs and has not stopped Meowing since the Great Rescue.

I wish I were not allergic to kitties, because he looks so cute and cuddly. I know if I get close, I will puff up and be sneezy. Maybe the itchy eyes would be worth a nuzzle or two.

But the Littles do not need any more pets at the moment, according to Joel. The truth is, I would really love to have a BIG dog - a great dane, wimeriner, or something just gigantic. But we are not home enough to have a dog that needs so much exercise.

We do not have pet storage crates lying around the office, but we made due with a mail carton, towel and newspaper.

Luckily for kitty, it is potluck day for Trons birtday, so maybe she can sneak in a few pieces of pepperoni pizza.

I have a lot of clothes.  I have plenty of shirts and sweaters, as well as jeans and dress pants.  I also have about 30 jackets and coats from over the years.  I decided that it's time to clean out my closet, so i decided to store my clothes in a climate-controlled unit . I started renting is on the second floor.  Even though I have to use elevators to access the space, I don't mind because the price is cheaper.  Now, I have a lot of extra closet space.

My family lives in a small duplex.  We have very little storage space .  When we moved into the duplex and realized that there was not enough space for all of our clothes, we decided to store some of them.  We sorted our clothes into two piles.  One pile was for winter clothes.  The other pile was for summer clothing.  The summer clothes go into our rented storage unit during the winter.  Our winter clothes go into the unit during the summer.  It is a great system to help meet our storing needs.

Moving in with some is a big step even if it is not a boyfriend or girlfriend. Moving in with friends can be a hassel as well. Me and my friend was thinking about moving in together because it would save money as well as it would be cool to live together because we get along so well. Wrong. That was the complete opposite she wanted to move all of her stuff in without putting some of it in storage . I figured at first she just wanted to bring some of her things like all of her stuff from the dorm. No, she had to bring all of her things from her parents basement which she has not seen in years since she has been home. So i asked her why she wanted to bring all that stuff here now she said because its her home noe and that is how she lives. So i decided right then and there that i wanted to keep our friendship so i told her i was going to get my own place so we would not fall out as friends. I dont regret that decision because she moved in with another friend and that cant stand each other. Life lesson. 

There are a lot of things that people like to put in storage, but furniture storage has to be at the top of the list.  Since couches, chairs, and tables tend to be bulky, they usually take up more space, and are more difficult to condense and stack, than boxes.  Antique or wood valuables should ideally be stored temperature controlled units to prevent excessive moisture or heat from damaging the wood or cloth.  Particular care must be taken when stacking objects on top of the furniture to avoid tearing or damaging the fabric as well.  If storing bulky or heavy pieces, it may be wise to choose a drive up or 1st floor space.

So last night I was dragged to a concert at the blue note.It was Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band. It was actually pretty fun, there were some very interesting people there and all of my friends were there as well. When we were leaving we saw the tour bus parked on the edge of the street. It had a big trailer behind it too that looked like a little storage space on wheels.

Any time I need something for leftovers I find I am missing either the bottom or the top of my tupperware. Even if I have just bought a full ten piece set, one piece will be missing by the next day. Has anyone ever heard of any tupperware bandits in the area? I really need some help on this.

On a recent move I had the pleasure of visiting one of the coolest storage facilities . It was located about 30 feet under ground in a large cavernous cave. Its some of the safest storage I have ever seen as its immune to the elements being so far underground and its naturally kept cool. There were several really nice cars lined up in the front as soon as the gate opened. It looked like the bat cave with a fleet of sports cars.

As our office continues to transition into its new mode of operation, I am continually reminded of how great the self storage community can be. Allow me to explain.

Every day at work, I need to keep in constant touch with my coworkers. As you may very well know, the self storage world is one of constant change. As such, self storage professionals must always help each other out. Whenever there is a change in policy or procedure, it is every representatives job to make sure that their coworkers are adequately informed. Good communication skills are not a bonus, but a must. Self storage professionals must be able to communicate with each other well in order to keep up with such a fast paced environment.

Here, then, you can see why the self storage community is great. Representatives are always working together, interested in promoting a healthy workplace for all. None of us gain anything by having a weak representative on the floor. Really, it only creates problems. We must all stick together and work together on a daily basis. Great chemistry has begun to develop between the diverse members of our salesforce.

2009 is shaping up to be a great year for our office. As time goes on, we are becoming more and more familiar with one another. We are becoming closer, more efficient, and more friendly. Of course, I welcome all of these improvements with an open heart. I can only hope that we continue to improve at this rate. If we do, we will not only be the best salesforce around, but the friendliest and happiest as well.

It turns out I did not get the puppy. I am very sad about it, but oh well. Maybe in the future. If anyone knows of any puppies that need a home contact me. I have a lot of things that I would like to clean out of the garage in order to make room for my car. I may need to get some storage supplies in order to have a place to put everything. Most everytime when were shopping around it is for whats cheapest. Ezpecially with the economy we look for every way we can save a dollar. This is good and alot of times a must to fit into our budget but alos we must think of what will work best for us in the long run. Alot of the time people want the cheapest unit but sometimes this isn't the best in the long run. som items in our homes are temperature sensitive and cost alot to replace. We should think about spennding the couple extra dollars on climate controlled storage to protect those belongings so we dont have to end up speding more money to replace those items. Some electronics, furniture and many other items are temperature sensitive and should be placed in a climate control. When shopping around make sure to also ask about those climate control units. the little extra cost could save you alot more in the long run.

Marvin worked in the self storage industry. He knew that not only in the self storage industry, but in many companies, whether they related to the self storage industry or not, the economy was hitting hard and layoffs were either highly possible or even sometimes inevitable. He wanted to make sure that should his job within the self storage industry become threatened at all, he would have a plan of action, and one that might include falling back on an area of employ other than the self storage industry that he was accustomed to.

Marvin had done his research and he knew that the unemployment rate was nearing 7%, the highest it has been in many years. He also knew that even with promises for an economical change, things were not that easy and most likely economy would only get worse for the next year or so, if not even beyond that. He was determined to have an idea of what he needed to do if faced with a layoff.

He began by making use of the time he was employed. Out of every paycheck went as much as he could spare toward what he considered an emergency fund. This was a fund that he had a goal to save up to six months or more of monthly expenses in full. This would give Marvin the ability to pay bills such as mortgage, car payment, utilities, groceries, gasoline, etc. without necessarily having to reach for a normal savings or cash in on any retirement early, which he desperately wanted to avoid. He began saving as soon as possible and tried to cut back in other areas so that he would have the ability to save more, faster.

 This was his second step in preparing for a possible layoff, to cut back expenses in his daily life. He kept a more careful budget and watched every penny, making sure he spent only on what was absolutely necessary and he slashed back his entertainment and miscellaneous funds and spending dramatically for a few months in order to have more to stock away in his emergency fund. Some of the ways Marvin considered for cutting back were the following.

1. Holiday money. For Christmas and birthdays he and his family agreed that they would expect less from each other and either give homemade gifts or simply cards to their friends and family.

2. Child care. Marvin and his wife had a three year old who went to a day care, but when his wifes mother retired, they took the opportunity to use this to their benefit. They asked her if she would be willing to look after their child a couple days a week to help them cut back on child care expense.

3. Cars. Marvin and his wife both worked in the same town, only several miles from their home. They decided that for a while they only needed one vehicle, and so they sold their second one. Marvin drove his wife to work and then picked her up on the way home, a minor inconvenience for such a big savings!

The last step Marvin took to help prepare for a layoff was to get rid of his credit cards. This may seem like a backward step, but he knew that if he had credit cards at his beck and call and was in a tight spot, he would use them, thus incurring more debts and monthly payments that only added to the weight of his normal bills, an endless and very unnecessary circle.

When everyone was leaving to go back home for the summer my roommate and I stayed in Columbia. It is just the two of us in a large four bedroom three story apartment. One of our friends who we are going to be living with in the fall asked if he could store his things in our apartment over the summer. We now have all his things and our apartment is like a storage warehouse .

I just visited a friend of mine whom I had not seen in many years. I was really looking forward to this encounter until I set foot in this guys apartment. Let me tell you, I was not ready for what I saw. This guy had so many spare boxes and items lying around everywhere that I could hardly see his floor. Needless to say, I had to sit down with my friend and give him some information about self storage hardware . Before long, I had him convinced that we could clean his apartment up in no time.

A friend of mine broke the news that they were moving, her father was in the army and just got stationed in another state. They were going to need some storage for their two bedroom house. They were looking for a large storage unit to store all their belongings. They had to look into getting a truck as well. They found a storage company that offered them the first months free and with a moving company too. They went the storage company and found that their move was very easy and affordabale.

The fun 4th of July holiday is approaching very quickly. Only 3 more days until fireworks will be lighting up the sky. I am very excited because one, it is my sister's birthday and so it's always been a big celebration. Also, this year I will be spending it with my friends at the lake. Their parents have taken their boats out of boat storage for the summer and have them all ready to go for this weekend. I plan on hitting the lake for a few hours tubing, skiing and hopefully wakeboarding. At my friends lake houses they also have lots of boxes full of fun toys for the water. We always get a kick out of going to the lake.

It amazes me all of the personal things people tell me when they are calling for information about renting self storage units .  The woman I just spoke to said she needs a unit so she can start collecting furniture.  She is going to move out of her the home of her boyfriend when he goes on vacation.

I need a place to keep all my books. Ive got boxes of books in abundance. Maybe I will store certain books on shelves so I can have easy access to them. Some day I hope to eventually start my own library, I am sure it will happen one day. Until then, though, I think I will need to keep my book collection in a storage facility for safe keeping.

Sometimes cheaper is not better especially when getting storage. School will be starting back up here in about 2 months, which means leases are ending and new ones are beginning. Most college students leases end or begin on August 1st. I know quite a few people who have been asking me about temporary storage for the extra furniture and household items they have. There is no better meditation that flying free on a speed craft, jumping waves and feeling the wind in your hair and the sun on your face. This has alway been a huge dream of mine. When it comes time, I will have to figure in the cost of boat storage to help with my dream.

Boat Storage is a great solution when it comes to finding a safe place for your boat during the winter.  Boat Storage can be found in most any of the larger cities near the water.  By putting your boat in storage you can keep it in a climate controlled facility which might even extend its life.

ARGH. Crazy economy. Rapid change. Unsure of where to go and what to do.  Thank the Universe for self storage facilities.  Everything I own is snoozing in a 10x30 unit at a much lower rate than an apartment would be, while I sofa surf with friends and family.  This gives me time to carefully consider my options and look for better ones, preventing the unfortunate consequences of making a poor decision in a panic. Inhale. Exhale.

I had a dream last night that I owned about twenty pair of running shoes. In my dream I came home from work and all my shoes where running around my apartment and I could not catch my shoes to put them in a place they could not run around. I remember saying to myself that I sould have put all my shoes in storage boxes so this would have never happend.

Some of my favorite calls in this business are people looking to rent storage spaces to live in them. It is illegal to live in a storage space of course but I think it is funny people want to live in a ten by ten space. One call I got was a man looking for an indoor space so he can run his recording studio. Working business out of storage units is also a no no. If I were looking to sign a record contract and the studio was run by one man out of a storage unit, I would be a little worried.

I have been meaning to have a garage sale for the past 5 weekends. Every Friday night, something comes up that puts it off another week. This week is The Weekend - I WILL, MUST, HAVE TO sell the junk piled up in my basement.

All the hard work is monstly done. I have sorted through all the closets, nooks and crannies in my home and decided what is in the Sell Pile. Now I just need to SELL it, and fast. My sister is moving in with us in a little over a month, which is really one 8 days, if you just count the weekends (which are the only times we have to clean out the basement and fix it up).

YIKES, when I put it like that, it makes me anxious.

I am exited to have her come live with us. I have no family in the area, so having my best friend downstairs will be AWESOME. Of course, we are sisters, so there will be plenty of arguing, but we have perfected the art of arguing and still laughing at the end (we have had lots of practice).

I DO love my sister and I cannot wait to have her here. It is just all the stuff she will bring with her that may make our house a little crowded. I think I will suggest splitting the rent of a self storage unit with her to get some of the uneeded items out of the way.

One of my best friends just broke up with his girlfriend of 3 years. He is devastated, and lately he has not been much fun to hang out with. He is all gloom and doom, a real Debbie Downer. But its okay because he has been there for me in the past, so I dont mind cheering him up when I can.

He and his girl lived together. The lease was in her name and since they did not break up on good terms she is putting him out. So he has to put all of his stuff in furniture storage . My roomate and I operate a small moving company. He has a truck and people were always asking him to help move so we decided to just go ahead and do it for profit. We've had a few crazy moves, a few hard ones and a few strange ones, so while the work is pretty grueling it's always something new which is what I like.

Benjamin was a hard worker. He worked at several different self storage facilities around his home town. The self storage facilities that he worked for probably could not run without him. Even the owners of the self storage facilities said that he was an amazingly hard worker. The owners of the self storage facilities said that Ben was diligent and that he took care of the self storage facilities as if he owned them himself. Bens boss told him not to come into work for a month. Then his boss told him that even when he could come back to work, he was not allowed to work over forty hours a week. In the past, Ben had worked up to seventy hours a week at times. It was just too much. He was being forced to cut back. No one wanted Ben to be rushed to the hospital again. Who knew, the next time it might be too late. So now, Ben was forced to stay home and find things to do.

Mi hermana y yo estamos planeando comenzar un negocio de catering, craft, decoraciones y todo lo que se nos ocurra. I am so excited. I just got married three weeks ago, and my husband just moved in with me. He has been staying with me since we got married, and last weekend he finally moved all of his things over to my house. We just did not have the time before all of that to move his items. I was so caught up with planning our wedding and he was working so many extra shifts to pay for it before we got married that we did not have the time to move everything before the wedding day.

After the wedding, we went to Mexico for our honeymoon, and after that we were so exhausted that we took a week off before we moved everything. Once we got it all here, we realized that there was not near enough room for all of our things. The lease on his apartment is up in two weeks, but we still have six months here. Back from a great weekend of golf and poker with some of my best friends in Tulsa. It was pretty wild and I am glad to back to normalcy and talking about mini storage with the people who call in. It will be awhile until I can get away again, but I kind of feel like that is for the best. I am beat.

Today I was thinking since I have alot of cars that I could put some of them in a storage.  I can only drive one car at a time so it doesnt make sence to have all my cars parked outside my house. My boyfriend told me to look in to auto storage at a local storage company. That was a good idea.

I made a tremendous mistake, trying to cover up the original mistake. On Good Friday in Canada, I sent a lady to the store. She had her movers and was devastated when she got there and the office was not open.

What I did was go online to storage places in Canada, and find someone that was willing to help. I sent the lady there, then went and told someone what I had done. At the back of my mind I knew not to do that, but it didnt actually click not to do that. I was basically trying to help the customer before I got in trouble for not reading my screen correctly.

I promise never to do that again, and except all punishment for my actions.   If I were in a climate controlled space I would of been cool about it.

I think it is time to make a decision. Do I keep boxing up the clothes the boys grow out of, just in case we have another boy? If so, do I keep letting the rows of boxed clothing slowly take over the corner of my garage or do I rent a self storage unit. I hired a moving company recently and I could not be happier with their work.  Usually when I move something gets lost or broken.  This was the first time I hired someone, it made it so much easier.  The work that would have taken me a couple of days, was done by a moving company in just a few hours.  They provided the truck and I just watched.

Desperate for a job she goes to work for her cousin Vinny and falls into being a bounty hunter. Shes determined to catch some pretty dangerous people because they have higher commission payouts and she like the big checks. Anyways, in the second book she was dealing with a very crazy case involving three men. One of them ran a mortuary and at one point was storing 24 wood coffins in a storage unit . He bought them from the military because they had a surplus sale. Needless to say it was an odd request for a storage unit.

Angels are everywhere even needing storage . I had taken a call one day from a woman who was calling for her friend, who needed storage. Really her friend was a man who just moved to her neighborhood. This man had moved his things and himself and had left his wife behind. After he was settled he was going to get her. While he was there his wife had fallen on the ice, she hit her head and had died later. This woman did not know this gentleman, just his story. She told him to go to his wife and she would have his things put in storage. This woman is truly an Angel.

So I have been thinking all about what Im going to be getting people for Christmas. I know what you are thinking its July and you have a lot of time till Christmas comes. Local car storage is right around the corner, both figuratively and literally. Well, for me, at least. You see, my car is in a terrible state of disrepair at the moment, and I would hate to leave it out on the street for very much longer. It has, as of now, sustained quite a bit of damage, and I would hate for things to get any worse from here.

 
 
It would surprise you to see how badly my car has suffered from its stay on the road. I have had a few problems with my exhaust system, recently, so I have decided to avoid driving my car unless it is absolutely necessary. Of course, I do not have a garage, so I have had to leave my car parked on the street. Though my car endured the winter, I would hardly say that it has won the battle.

Just finished reading a book called Skinny Bitch this morning before work.  Now dont freak out.  It really wasnt a book about being a crab.  It was an excellent book about eating healthy.  Which leads me to my point.  Healthy eating is really simple.  However it does require a little fore thought and preperation.  That means you need the storage available to keep fresh fruits and vegitables handy for eating.

Nowadays not many people have the room or the resources to store their boats. Many of them use the local boats storage facility in order to take care of their boats during the harsh winter months. Most boat owners value their boats because they use it as their warm weather get away. So with the importance of their vehicle protecting their summer fun, they would want to store it some where they know they do not have to worry about it all.

Many people try to find a friend or family member that has some free space in the driveway or back yard that can help them store their boat. They are trying to save money. You are trying to save money but at the same time you are putting your boat at risk of bad storing techniques also putting your family members responsible for your property. That is never a good thing.

If I were in the same situation a person with a boat to store would be in, I would find the local boats storage facility closest to me and store my boat there. I would pay to have someone take care of my boat for me instead of me having to worry about its safety and protection. I do not have security gates all around my house or my friends house or video surveillance to make sure no one is attempting to cause damage to my property. To me, it would be very important to have this sort of security to protect my investment.

There are a lot of people that live in big cities in California. Everyone knows it is really expensicve to live out there, so if you are living in a big hous in Missouri and you are moving to California, chances are you will be down grading in the size of your house. If you have a lot of things you do not want to get rid of because you can not get them into your new house you should look for California mini storage spaces. These spaces will allow you to keep all the things you do not want to get rid of.

I need a place to set up an art studio. If only I had enough room in my home to set up an eisle to paint. I love art so much it's not fair that I can't work on my canvasses whenever I want, just because I live in a tiny apartment. Maybe I can find a storage facility that will not only let me store my completed art, but also continue my work in one of their storage spaces as long as I don't make a mess. I love bubble wrap a lot. If I could I would just sit around all day and pop bubble wrap paper. Before I stated working here I did not know were to get bubble wrap unless I got it from a package in the mail. Now I know that storage facilities have moving supplies such as boxes and bubble wrap. I think I should get my way down to a facility and buy some large bubble wrap.

It has to be fun mystery shopping clients. Even though the goal of being a private shopper is to evaluate performance, it can still be fun. You get to act as another person, which I think would be pretty cool. I would probably come in disguise, maybe in dreadlocks and shades.

I have a lot of spoons. I have big spoons, little spoons, medium spoons, wooden spoons, metal spoons, copper spoons, and plastic spoons. I have spoons from all over the world and now they are taking over my house. I need to find temporary storage to store all my spoons that I do not eat with untill I open my house of spoons. 

I was talking to my Uncle the other day and he was telling me all the funny jokes that he had. A lot of them I have already heard from him before but a ton of his jokes I have not heard yet. I think I was up from sunset till sundown listening to his jokes. I do not know how he stores all his jokes. I think his brain is just a big storage space to hold jokes.

My great grandfather was known for building interstates, this has been a gerneration to generation occupation, so when he passed it down to my father and my father passed it down to me I was very excited. You might be surprised to hear this, but I do not have very many shoes. I usually have two or three pairs that I wear until they die. One of my friends however, is a shoe collector. We got off the road as soon as we could and pulled off. We then had to call the owner of the piano store to come and pick us up. It was quite an episode.

Locker storage is very convenient for people who only have a few things to store. Encontramos tambien a los clientes que se comunican con una compania de almacenes y que no cuentan con mucho tiempo, o quieren hacer notar al representante que ellos no cuentan con mucho tiempo para solo escuchar por el precio del almacen, ya sea por que lo mas importante para ellos es el precio o por que ya recibieron la información de esta compania en anteriores oportunidades.

Tambien encontramos a los clientes que realizan una serie de preguntas, ya que estos no han alquilado un almacen en anteriores oportunidades o por que quieren estar seguros donde van a guardar sus pertenencias.

Como observamos diferentes situaciones, diferentes personalidades, lo importantes es que el representante de la compania de almacenes, se de cuenta rapidamente de la personalidad de su cliente, asi como sus necesidades, para poder ayudarlo correctamente, asi como tambien poder tomar el control de la llamada en lo posible. Muchos clientes quieren controlar la llamada y que el representante de las compania de almacenes, simplemente responda sus preguntas, por lo cual en estos casos el representante de la compania de almacenes puede tratar de tomar el control de la llamada, pero si esto no funciona, simplemente debera complacer al cliente contestando las preguntas de este, esto satisfacera las necesidades de este cliente, y muchas veces hasta realizara la reservación, ya que el representante le brindo la información que este necesitaba y es la manera de este cliente de escoger por sus servicios!

This past weekend when I was driving home from St. Louis I noticed a lot of storage facilities along I 70. With so many options it can be very hard to choose a storage facility. Be sure to choose a safe storage space, and one that will be a very secure storage place. It is always better to pay an extra buck or two for peace of mind.

So we got back from the Lake late Sunday afternoon.  The thing I dread the most after traveling is the unpacking of the luggage.  I hate it.  I will find every other excuse in the world to not unpack.  I always pack horribly and grab this or that thing that I might need.  Several outfits just in case one does not fit the way I like it to.  So I may as well just box up my whole wardrobe when I travel because thats what it feels like Im traveling with my whole wardrobe. 

Chinese food is delicious, I NEED to get some for dinner tonight. I spent all day today moving and Im exhausted. Although it feels good to finally get all of my stuff moved out of my storage space I am absolutely famished and need to eat something. Im so hungry I don't even know what to order. It all sounds so good Ive just been sitting with the carryout menu in one hand and my phone in the other waiting to place my delivery order. Ah, decisions.

I hate playing phone tag. It is definitely one of my least favorite games. The other day I got caught up in a very confusing game of phone tag between myself, my roommate, and one of our clients for our moving business. Its a long complicated ordeal and kinda hard to explain, but in an nutshell we were both trying to get her set up for an appointment with neither of us knowing that we were talking about the same person. 

We would have figured it out sooner if we werent communicating through voicemails and emails.  But we did get everything all figured out eventually. It was an easy move too, she only had one trucks load worth of stuff.

Had the pleasure of watching my grandchildren indulge simple pleasures this weekend. Blowing bubbles, saturating each other with squirt guns, building forts out of blankets and boxes , with constant squeals for the adults to come see their creations. It is amazing the mileage you can get out of moving boxes . I have some that I purchased for a move over a decade ago. Wardrobe boxes are the best. They are the ones that become the castle towers. Ive gotten more than my moneys worth out of every box.

A lot of people like to spend their holidays maxing and relaxing. Many other people see the 4th of July as a day to get tasks done. A lot more people than you think use the 4th as a day to get things moved or complete some spring cleaning. The moving company, that I started with my roommate, actually got quite a few requests to move things this holiday weekend. The requests varied greatly from just moving a mattress from one room to another to moving half way across the state.

Have you ever gotten a storage call where the person begins by asking if you are running in specials? Well if you do it tells you a two things.

1. The person has probably talked to another facility or seen an ad.

2. The person is in need of deal.

This is all fine when the store is actually running a promotion. But when you get the question on a call where they do not it sorta leaves you stumped. So what I have started doing is telling the customer that we are not currently running in promotions because we have such limited availability. Then I round it out by stating that my manager may be able to offer a special that I cannot, but lets just go ahead and reserve something now while we wait to hear back from him.

Individual sports are so much better than team sports and here is why. An individual sport is completely controlled by the person playing. In football, for example, one player making a mistake can cost the whole team. When I play golf, I am completely in charge of my own success. The pressure it greater when you are relying on yourself only. Records held my athletes that play team sports can be skewed, was MJ really that good or did the rest of his team make him look that was. Individual records show you how good someone actually was at their sport. If you think that team sports are better I would love to hear about it, I am sure I will get boxes of responses about this.

I ran across someone today that was trying to make the popular and common mistake of calling around and looking for cheap storage . The problem with looking for cheap storage is that there are so many other things that you should be looking for such as security or location, as an example.

I live in a apartment complex, so I have no garage.  We had to get household storage when we moved from our house to our new place.  Most of what we had to store came from the items from our garage.  Our goal was to sell the lawmower and garden equipment, since we no longer needed it, and did not plan to move again anytime soon.  Once we sold the big things, we were able to go down to a smaller sized unit.  Sometimes I regret selling those things, because we are again looking for a house, and now have no lawn equipment.

In the event that the fantastic 4 may need storage there are a few things to keep in mind.  Due to the fact that there are 4 in the group, they will probably have a lot of belongings that will need to be stored.  So because they will have an ample amount of materials they will probably need a fairly decent sized unit, say a 10x20 or a 10x30.  I know for a fact that they will need a climate controlled unit because Mr. Fantastic has a lot of electronical devices that will need to be in a secure room temperature environment.  Be aware that Mr. Fantastic is a super genius so he will think that he knows more about the self storage process than you.  But we all know as storage mart reps, we know more about storage than anybody.  These are just a few things to keep in mind when storing with the Fantastic 4.

Last night I was informed that I am going to be project laundry list volunteer of the month.  I add news articles regarding the benefits of air drying clothes and articles concerning legislative agendas regarding bans and restrictions on air drying laundry.   Air drying laundry saves any where from 6 to 10 of monthly domestic energy bill. 

Just think if you can save money on your utility bill you have more money to spend on a few new storage containers .

When moving in to an indoor storage it is always important to make sure it will be convenient to get to. Ways to check for convenience is by seeing how easy it is to get to your unit by it being on the first floor or maybe even being close to an elevator. 

Today at work I have been getting a lot of calls from a guy named Michael. Every time I talk to him he always brings up his car and how it goes beep beep. I wonder if the next time I talk to him I would be able to sell him auto storage for his beep beep car.

I hear some very sad stories from customers when they are calling about self storage .  I just had a lady tell me that she is trying to sell her house, but is about to give up on it and just walk away.  It seems she bought the house a few years ago for three hundred and eighty thousand dollars.  It is now on the market for two hundred and five thousand dollars, a loss of a hundred and seventy five thousand bucks.  And still no takers.

I was watching Alice in wonderland the other day and I completely forgot about the Chesire Cat, and that got me to think about self storage .  What a strange time to think about storage, pretty soon Ill be having storage dreams.

It is the last day of June and the phones are ringing off the hook here at PhoneSmart.  A lot of callers are stressed out because they have to be moving out of their current living situation by tomorrow. Storing with the Flash will be the fastest self storage process that you will ever go through.  The Flash will not even argue with you, give you any objection, disagree, or anything.  Not particuarly because he is the nicest person but only because he has no time to look for anything else he just wants to get it done, FAST.  Dont worry about being in a conveinent location, as long as its on this planet it wont take him long at all to get to where he needs to be.  Also keep in mind that when talking with the Flash you have to be ready to take down everything that he says, he talks pretty fast, kind of like a New Yorker.  Just something to keep in the back of your head when dealing with the Flash.

I found a really nice brand new pillow top mattress in the classifieds today. I am in desperate need of a new bed because I only get about 4 hours of sleep per night. Which would be fine because I dont require a lot of sleep. But lately I noticed that the four hours have been leaving me a little tired in the morning, and it has to be because of my matress. So although I am sleeping it is not as comfortable and recuperative as it could be.

So I am buying the new mattress but I do not want to move it into my current apartment. So I plan to get some cheap storage for a few weeks to keep until my move in date, and of course it will be climate controlled.

I have so many things that I have to get done before friday. It seems like only yesterday that all that I had to do was to help people get a self storage unit . I still like to help people get a self storage unit , but I also have so much schoolwork that I have to do as well.

What moving supplies would someone suggest I use for storing clothes?  I am planning on storing my entire winter wardrobe, but i am not sure what is the safest way to store them without them getting damaged.  I have had a couple of friends tell me to use rubber maid type containers, but those are costly.  I do not want to spend the extra money on a climate controlled space, but I am afraid mildew might accumulate.  Is there anyone that has a good answer to my dilemma?

Most college students who have dorm rooms use storage over the summer vacation.  When students go home, they need a place to put thier things.  This makes it easier when the fall rolls back around, as everything is waiting to be picked up and moved to the new place.  This is part of the reason why the summer is the busiest time of the year for the storage industry.  Parents usually pick up the bill, and are often willing to prepay for the entire stay, which helps the facility keep solid tenants.

Typing about storage makes me wish I put all of my stuff in a nice, clean, safe storage facility  . I cannot believe I put all of my belongings in a cheap little storage place solely because of the price. The space I foolishly rented was basically a big empty lot with chinsey little sheds built on it. There wasnt even a fence, much less video cameras, door alarms, security lights or an on-site property manager to look after my stuff. It shouldnt have been a surprise when I got my lock cut and all of my valuables stolen. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU RENT. It is worth paying the extra dollar or two to keep your belongings on well protected property.

In the event that someone calls in and they are wanting to store paintings there are a few things that are very important to cover while helping the caller in their self storage process.  One they will probably want a unit that is climate controlled because that will ensure that their paintings will not be tarnished in anyway.  Also remember that they will probably want state of the art security because their paintings are of extreme value to them and will want to feel that their paintings will indeed be safe and secure while they are storing with us.  Those are just a few things to remember when some one is wanting to store their beloved pieces of art.

I believe storage buildings she be one of the main priorities for someone considering storage . Although price is always a big concern, you should keep in mind the factors of a price. One of the under rated factors is convenience.

I plan on moving this weekend and I will be in need of short term storage .  Our lease ends today and we will need storage for about a month when our new place is open and those people move out.  This also allows us to save a little money while we live with my parents for a month or so.

So I have been thinking of writing a play about a woman who live is a storage unit . It would be absurdist and symbolic. Sort of like Lonely Planet by Steven Dietz. Which is an excellent play if your looking to read some contemporary theatre.

In my play the main character would be trying to sell another character on her storage unit. So she would just name some features of it.

It is climate controlled, I have lights and an outlet, a door alarm, 8 foot ceilings so I can stack things pretty high.

I am not sure where I am gonna go with this but I will keep you posted. I could be on to something here.

I am glad that I have been able to put a little bit of money away in the last few months. Having a little bit of money to fall back on makes the days go by a little bit better. And I have to say that I owe it all to storage . Wonderful, wonderful storage .

When running a business, it is important to keep everyone in the company happy so that work can be done efficiently and effectively. If all levels within the company structure feel that their part is being done for the benefit of the company as a whole, then everyone is more likely to do their particular job well. If that business is a self storage business, there are several levels of employees that need to be represented well and satisfied with their position in the company to keep things running smoothly and the money coming in.

These levels start with owners and CEOs, and continue all the way down through district and regional managers and phone representatives, but these bottom two levels play a special role in the company structure. They are part of the self storage salesforce and are responsible for keeping the leads for the company coming in and are personally responsible for securing clients. These employees have to be on top of their game when speaking on behalf of the company, and need to be comfortable with their role for the company to do so.

If the environment is a friendly one and the pay is reasonable, it is very likely that this type of environment will be maintained and everything will be running smoothly within the company. The owners can keep everything in line and keep new clients coming in, and the self storage salesforce can keep generating leads and taking reservations to secure clients for the business.

As many of you already know, our call center has moved to a new office. It is a great office, full of new furniture, new computers, and, to some of us, new people. Once again, my faith in the self storage community has been strengthened.
 
Our new office brings us into closer contact with the corporate workforce. Though we had shared a building in our older office, seldom did we come into contact with the corporate office. The call center remained isolated from the corporate offices. Though we were on friendly terms, I admittedly did not know the names of many of the corporate workers.
 
Here, in the new office, I am able to greet and converse with many new people. As such, I feel that I have become part of something larger. It is truly great to get to know those around you, particularly when those around you are friendly, interesting people.
 
Thus, the self storage community once again seems like a great place. Our new office is great, and the new people I have met have always been friendly and willing to help. Of course, this can only amount to better morale and better service for our callers.
 
I wish that I could give my readers a tour of our new workplace and show them, firsthand, how great everything is. Take my word for it, though, when I say that we are having a blast at our new office. The self storage community is healthier than ever before, and we are all looking forward to even better things to come.

Have you noticed everything is green these days?  Yeah I thought so and it is a bit ridiculous would you not agree?  Ecology and conservation seems to be hip these days with the energy crunch, climate change, and lions, tigers, and bears oh my.  I am all for green living and I practice what I preach.  I am a vegetarian, recycling flower child of the seventies that formed the basis of my beliefs and through practical experiences in my lives.  Yes we do come back, recycling you see.  What really aggravates me is when I see companies promoting a green lifestyle saying buy my product and you will save the life of an eight legged arachnid that lives in a one mile radius of the lower Amazon river basin.  Green has been taken taken over by the marketing gurus on Madison Avenue and it is being used as a buzz term in order to lull the consumers in to a false sense of altruism toward the planet and life in general when in reality that organically grown energy bar is packaged in a foil or plastic wrapper that will take generations for it to decompose in a landfill or wind up in the ocean suffocating life.  Since we are in the self storage business and many of the facilities are massive with rows of buildings it would be great to see solar panels on these roofs.  Now that is something actually green. 

I love palm trees.  When I lived in Florida, I would go to the beach just to look at the palm trees.  Palm trees have a calming effect on my tired mind.  Palm trees are like storage units , they are both awesome.  Though you do not hear of it often, I believe there are people who like rental storing units as much as I appreciate a good palm tree.

No one is ever prepared when they have to move. Now if someone is simply storing items to get them out of the way so they are not taking up free space in their own home or business, it really does not become an issue. Since that itself is something that time is not prohibiting you to, then it can be done at the leisure of the person storing. No hurry, no worry. But if you have to move and get mini self storage while you are looking for a new home, or moving from your home for whatever the reason and what ever the length of time that the mini self storage is needed, then it is smart of you to prepare yourself much in advance to lessen the stress. Indeed, be sure that you are looking into all of the Hardware  that you are going to need as well.

We all know that moving is stressful. It is just stressful thinking about the move process. No one looks forward to the move process unless that is something that tickles your funny bone. But this article will include some tips to help your move a little easier.

Most homes would probably need a minimum of approximately 60 mini self storage boxes in various sizes. That is putting it lightly, believe it or not. Make sure that you do not get all large boxes, because of the various items that need to be stored.

You want to store all of your heavier items into grouped boxes that you can tag with the same name so you know where they are in mini self storage and so they can be directly brought to the room they are intended for. For example, use smaller boxes for things such as books. Books are heavy and should only be stored with other books. Dishes would be another grouping in smaller boxes unless you have light items that are not delicate such as pots and pans, plastic or metal mixing bowls or plastic cups. You may one need one large box to hold all of those lighter kitchen items.

Files would be another grouping stored in your smaller file size boxes. These tend to be very heavy and delicate at the same time because you would not want anything to spill on these. Various size picture frames may need larger boxes that tend to be flatter in order to save space, but you can also use larger boxes and separate frames with Styrofoam so they are protected. Make sure that you have large print on the outside of the box marked delicate or fragile, glass picture frames inside to warn the person handling these boxes during your move.

You can also store things such as comforters and blankets into the larger mini self storage boxes since they are not fragile and not heavy. These stack very well and can be stacked high into the space and the truck without having to worry that something might happen to them. These are your sorry free boxes.

Most places also carry boxes with a bar built in for your delicate clothing items that can be hung inside of the box in order to keep the clothes wrinkle free. These are a little more expensive, but worth every penny when it comes to your more expensive clothing apparel. It is much less costly compared to having to repurchase those clothing items if they ended up getting torn by something else stored in the box by accident. You are less apt to store other items in these hanger style boxes.
