Schools out for winter and oh boy are the students needing storage units .  It seems that colleges for whatever reason are taking quite a recess in between semesters.  This poses problems for the students especially when they are between housing not to mention the parents of said students paying out extra money.

Well we have found some movers at the last minute so now we can breathe a little more easily.  My friend has three one car garages filled to the roof and I do not think the two of us middle aged women can get all that done.  It is a good feeling when people come together to help someone in need.

I come from a part of the country that is very landlocked with no real bodies of water within a hundred mile radius of me.  I do have friends though that are boat owners.  This makes no sense to me to own a boat and not be near water.  It is like living in Antarctica and having an icemaker.  So my crazy water enthusiast friends end up having to rent boat storage so they have some place to put the boats in between their two trips every year.  To them I say take up golf.

I was watching one of my favorite daytime cooking/talk shows the other day and they were doing a segment on organizing college dorms.  I wish I had seen this many moons ago when I was in college as my roomate and I were constantly tripping over each others stuff.  What the designer recommended to eliminate most of the clutter was to raise the bed about four feet and line the underneath with storage boxes  .

I have seen so much of the USA I think I could puke.  Better start taking those motion sickness pills again.  Seriously though we live in a very beautiful and diverse land and I am thankful I was able to see the majority of it while I was young enough to enjoy it.  Now I am ready to pick up and move to California it is awesome there.  Earthquakes and fires and mudslides oh my.  I did see a storage warehouse that would accomodate all my things.  Go west.

I am really tired of how the consumer frenzy of mass purchasing has affected our society.  There may be some justice with the fallout but I hate to see people suffer.  Why is it everything has to be big and new because small and old used to be just as good.  Large became supersize and this goes from fast food joints to big McMansions.  We have an obesity problem, we have low priced junk made by low wage workers overseas that break a day after the warranty is up.  The good news is we are catching on that new and cheap or quality equals quantity really is not the case.  The new green homes and buildings are the wave of the future and they will be built smaller and more efficient cutting down on the carbon footprint and using energy wisely.  This will result in an increased need for storage facilities which by the way have been building green already.

Well I suppose that if I purchase an RV it would make sense to purchase a boat too.  I am not much of a water lover in fact I am terrified of water much like people are afraid of heights.  So why buy a boat you may ask and I respond why do people that fear heights fly in planes.  If I am standing on the boat I am not in the water I am fine just like the person that is sitting in an airplane seat.   So time to get a boat and of course boat storage maybe I just need a bigger house and driveway.

I love to travel it is one of my greatest pleasures.  There is nothing like going somewhere you have never been and seeing life in a different way.  I have traveled many places and have spent time in Europe but as far as the United States I am a bit of a novice.  I think I will do one many have done before me and buy an RV and see America.  Problem is I live in a small house with a small driveway so I know I will have to get RV storage sometime down the line.

For the majority of my adult life I was in the car business.  I did just about everything there was from selling cars to running sales and service departments to finance and insurance.  One thing most people were looking for when it came to a decision to purchase was the amount of personal storage offered.  Know thy customers needs.

When my brother and I were kids our parents used to three times a year go down to the drugstore and rent one of those carpet steamer cleaner thingys.  They would buy the rolls of brown paper to put over the wet carpet and my brother and I used to pretend they were roads or paths in the forest.  This is a fond memory of my childhood one in which by brother and I actually got along while playing. What was cool is that all of us in the family became furniture movers for three times a year.
