It is always a difficult thing for me when I wonder if I will be cool enough to have a boat where I would store it. I know there is boat self storage all over the place but I do not know if I want to actually use an actual facility. At my church there is a place in which other members have used the church parking lot for storage so I was thinking about storing it there. I guess it is up to the pastor whether or not he will let me use the church lot as a place to store. Well he is my uncle so maybe I can tell him that he could help  out his favorite nephew.

It amazes me sometimes to know that there are some places in like New York or even areas around where I live to where you you can not park on the street. I think if you own the property or at least a portion of that property you should be able to park your car in front of your house. Sometimes the area does not allow you to do that and you have to find an auto storage option in order to have your car parked. Man, I am a glad I am not in that situation, but if I were, I know there are some options within my area that help me out.

THis weekend I get to go to the lake for a weekend getaway with some friends. I am terrified because they actually want me to get out on the lake in a boat. Are you serious? I don't get into boats, especially the type of boats that actually are on the water. I wouldn't mind at all to get on a boat that was stationary, but they want me to risk my life. I am wondering what type of boat we are getting into that day. I am a big guy I am not really wanting to get into a boat that can not support my weight. It is really scary. I can't help but wonder, becuae I am weird, what are they using for their boat storage ? With listening to so many calls, I can't help but wonder if they are paying for the boat storage or is someone else. It is none of my business necessarily but I am just curious. What I need to focus on is is that boat going to be big enough for me. I guess we will see.

Every day life in the call center is pretty exciting. I get to listen to people selling storage all day and hear the experiences of these people. Most people beleive that the calls are repetitive and there is nothing new to hear. That is not true. When it comes to selling self storage it gets pretty interesting. I hear representatives use all kinds of different phrases and sales tactics to get people reserved. It is mind blowing the things that they say on the phone but the customer love them. I am very proud and happy to be in the call center and every day selling is great.

I have often wondered why there are not as many moving services as their should be. What I mean is that there are plenty of places that offer self storage but not all of them offer a way to get your belongings there. The moving services that some people offer are in the form of a free truck and driver or just a moving truck. Most places do not offer the labor to help you load. I wonder would that be a service that people would pay for? Would storage faciities team up with these services to get the caller taken care of if they are unable to? That would be a good partnership if you ask me.

When it comes to storage there are many people out there who say they know what the deal is. Now there is no doubt that they know a lot about storage , but they do not know it all. I like to see that there are many different venues in which these gurus can show what they know. At the same time they are the respect from their peers. In this business, being on top of your competition is very crucial. The people that remains steps ahead, usually are the ones that keep their facilities full of clients. That is the kind of people that I want to be business with.

In every type of company you will find that you can not stay the way you are for too long. You have to adapt to your surroundings and your community. If there is something that your competition is doing and they are being successful, then you must do anything to beat the competition. In self storage different people are using a mutlitude of tools in order to get a leg up on the competition. Most storage facilities are using call centers to answer their phones when they are not available and we can gain business for them.  New technology is out there for people to use if they can either pay for or be crafty enough to invent something they do not have to pay another for.

In the world of self storage , everything is slightly different than the real world business. Well I guess on the second thought, it really is not. In this industry when people do not do what they are paid to do they are let go. When people go above and beyond the call of duty they are rewarded. It is good to think about that no matter what is going on, if you coworker is not doing what they are supposed to do to contribute to the success of the moving & storage company, they are out. Sometimes it is not easy to be the one to do the letting go, but at the same time you want to be successful. I for one, have been the one to let people go and at first I felt bad, but then I would think about how many times I have tried to help that person. Amazingly there have been many people to tell me how sorry they were that they dissappointed me. From that point on, doing what is best for the success of the company is a lot easier.

Man, oh man. Another wonderful day in the self storage industry. There were many wonderful conversations that I heard today and of course the balance is when we do not have good calls. I am one that thinks we can help any person with their storage and training needs. I would honestly say that I love training and making sure people are ready to serve the self storage customers that call. I love to talk to the managers outside our call center walls to see if I can offer them some help with getting more people into their gates to store. Sometimes those managers are not receptive, but we still give a smile and give them the help that they need. Man. I love to train.

I am so proud of the team of reps that we have. We are doing so much better than we have done in the past. When I say doing better, I mean we are doing phenominal. Right now I would honestly put my guys up against any call center out there. I guess it is not like one football team going against another in an all out qridiron battle. But if it was possible to battle another call center we would win. I mean at first I couldnt figure out why it was hard for people to get people to give out their name and number to rent a inside storage space. Right now we are in a good place. Right now we can only get better and that is scary. We are the storage solution . People call us and we make it happen.
