Charlie knew that her husband was going to go crazy. You know how some people do spring cleaning. Where you open your windows and air out your house. Clean each room top to bottom and do all of the little cleaning projects that you skip over all year. Small spaces like under the refrigerator or behind the dryer. Charlie however always did things a little differently. She did what she called winter cleaning.

It drove her husband Will crazy. Every winter she would start cleaning the house top to bottom. Somehow during winter cleaning she always found extra stuff in her house that she would box up to go to their Merriam Storage unit. She would box it up and label it. When her husband got home from work she would ask him to take it to the Merriam Storage facility.

He always complained about having to drag boxes in the snow and cold winds of winter, but he always did it. Will always knew when it was getting close to the time that Charlie would be cleaning. She would begin stocking up on cleaning supplies and looking to see if the mop and brooms were in good condition. There were also one or two boxes in the corner of their dining room that were waiting for her to fill them.

Each year he would complain about her winter cleaning, but every year he would put his coat back on from getting home from work and take the boxes to storage. Will also knew that when he got back home from the storage unit she would have made coffee for him, and that there would be a fire going in the fire place. It may be a weird tradition, but it was their tradition.
