I am always surprised by the diversity of the self storage community . Many of my coworkers have travelled all over the world, even lived in different countries. Perhaps I have lived in Missouri for a bit too long, because living in a foreign country is still one of my romanticized dreams.
 
I do not mean to say, of course, that I have not done my own fair bit of travelling. I have blessed, so to speak, with the ability to travel throughout college, though I did miss out on a semester abroad. I have had the opportunity to visit my friends in New York, California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, and Florida, and I only see more travelling ahead of me.
 
One of my coworkers lived in Sweden for several years with her husband. Though I know that it is expensive, there, I have always wanted to visit Sweden. So, too, have I wanted to visit Germany and France. Spain would also be nice, especially for the language emersion.
 
It makes sense that I enjoy travelling as much as I do because my parents are not very much inclined to vacation. As a child, I did not get to see too many different places. We went on family vacations and they were a ton of fun, though they were usually in the same place. Now, I have an itch to see as much of the world as I can.
 
It is great to know that I work in a self storage community that fosters diversity. It is always interesting to strike up a conversation with one of my coworkers and figure out where they have been.
