I am going to be out of the country for almost a year.  It would be pretty pointless of me to keep renting my place while I will be gone, so I decided to look in to finding some long term storage to help me with my situation.  After a few searches on the internet I found that there are a lot of places that can help you with this, and many of them offer a discount for people in my situation.  If you are going to be using the service for an extended period of time, they can help you out with the price a little bit.  I found a place that was willing to give me the space for 12 months at the price of only 9 months.  I got 3 months for free and I could not believe it.  I guess it works well for everyone to know that you will be in there for a year.  I am saving almost 400 a month not renting my apartment while I will be gone, this will allow me to do all kinds of things I wouldnt have been able to do if I was still paying that rent.
