StorPlace self storage is your friendly neighborhood storage service. Located at 1615 Charlotte Ave in the 37209 zip code of downtown Nashville, TN, StorPlace is great for furniture storage and other uses. A growing city, Nashville is famous for the Grand Ole Opry, Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Kroger, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Centennial Park, Dell, Ryman Auditorium and the Renaissance Hotel. Nashville, is world renowned for being the home of world famous musicians and for its ties to the music industry. Artists of every kind make the trip to Nashville to make a name for themselves and to try to meet A&R people from record companies. Literally alive with the sounds of music day and night, Nashville has a vibrant downtown with 5-star restaurants and shops for everyone. As the epicenter of Southern music, the Country Music Hall of Fame on Fifth Avenue draws tourists and music fans from the around the country and beyond. Here one can find tributes to the greats of music past and present, including Chubby Checkers, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Emmy Lou Harris, Patsy Cline, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Elvis Presley, of course, and many others. B.B. King is an icon of the blues. He is still touring and recording in the studio. His ties to Nashville are manifest by the location of “B.B. King’s Blues Club” on Broadway in the center of the city. At night, the lights from downtown reflect off the Cumberland River, which is the border between Nashville and East Nashville, for a breathtaking view. The Opryland steamboat runs on the river daily, as do many cargo ships and barges. Living in Nashville is increasingly a metropolitan experience highlighted by trips to the theater, art galleries and some of the finest restaurants around. The street buzz with excitement as songwriters, guitar players and singers attempt to fulfill their lifelong dreams of making it in Nashville. Live acts populate the bars and clubs downtown, and sometimes the unknown original acts are true diamonds in the rough. Walking down Broadway or along the Cumberland River, you can feel the history surrounding the city. Like all great cities, a sense of history heightens the experience of downtown Nashville. Perhaps this is why the population of young urban professionals continues to grow in Nashville. With a growing medical industry and increasing professional space, young college graduates increasingly stay in Nashville after completing their degrees at one of the areas Universities. This contributes to a growing economic base that fuels the cities growth and revitalization.
Area musicians will appreciate StorPlace’s solutions for fragile instruments, drummers with no extra space, or studio artists with recording equipment that won’t fit in their studio. An entire array of road gear can be securely put in self storage without worry. People who live downtown can use StorPlace for car storage, especially if they don’t use their cars that often. Automobile storage has been problematic since they were invented. The American love affair with cars and collecting cars has been well documented over the years. We associate our automobiles with eras and periods of our lives, life changing events, and historic and cultural changes. Many of us like to keep an old car because we love the classic lines or the memories it invokes. The only problem with collecting cars is car storage. Where does one keep a 1963 Ford Fairlane in showroom condition? In self-storage at StorPlace, naturally.
As a gated facility with after hour customer service, you know your car, furniture, and personal items will be safe and secure. We have placed security cameras at strategic locations within and outside the grounds to ensure constant monitoring. Each enclosed building’s hallways are under surveillance. Antique furniture storage, for instance, can be accomplished at StorPlace Nashville, TN, without worrying about the security of your valuable items. Boat storage in one of our larger units is another good example. Boats have tons of accessories: fishing poles, gas tanks, life preservers, cleaning supplies, nets, spot lights, etc. All these items can be put in a boat storage unit without concern for their security.
StorPlace is family-owned, and was started in Nashville. We are a full service self storage business. We have 5’x5’ units for temporary or minimal storage and truck-sized, long-term garages suitable for RV storage. Of course we have everything in between as well. We also employ high-tech temperature and humidity controlled spaces. Whether you need extra space for furniture storage or a seasonal spot for RV storage, count on StorPlace to exceed your needs with friendly smiles and customer service that’s second to none.
Our Charlotte Ave., downtown Nashville location sits between Vanderbilt University on the south side and Tennessee State University to the north. Vanderbilt students are a quick walk away, across Centennial Park. We are only blocks from the Tennessee State campus, so students and staff have the easiest possible access to their furniture storage bay. Call us at 615-321-0400 or come see us and our staff will help you find specific solutions to your storage needs. Charlotte Ave is a few blocks from the Tennessee Spine Center, a medical service center that helps people rehabilitate from Sciatica, lower back and disc problems and other spine related maladies. The Olivet Baptist church and the office of Ed Sanders for Governor, as well as the Children’s Oral Health Institute and Eaton Auto Village are near the Downtown Nashville StorPlace. Also, visit River Park, just up 28th St., while you are in the area, or get your cleaning done at Bryant Cleaners. While you are visiting your RV storage unit, get an estimate on some new tires for the rolling home at the Aldania Mechanic Shop also on Charlotte Avenue.
We are open Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 11:00 pm, and Saturday from 7:00am – 9:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm. StorPlace can store anything you need. Safely garage bulldozers and other construction materials. Inventory for small businesses can stack up quickly and a self storage unit at StorPlace can be an efficient way to keep surplus inventory and avoid inventory clearance sales. Ten by twenty units store 400 file-sized boxes. And accessing your inventory is simple with the key code you use to activate our security gate. You put your own lock on your individual unit, so nobody can enter without your permission and the key.
Moving is a process that starts with packing. StorPlace can provide you with packing supplies at a reduced rate. We offer a 10% discount to our customers on supplies such as boxes and packing tape. One can work up a healthy appetite while moving stuff around. Pop’s Pit Bar-Be-Q on 28th St. North serves traditional American dishes, while Ruths Chris Steak house serves up some of the best steaks in the country. If you’re looking to find that collectible car to put in auto storage try B&G Auto Sales or Eaton Auto Village.
At StorPlace, we feel it is our job to make your self storage life easier. StorPlace has been in the car storage and boat storage business since 1974, and we know a thing or two about the importance of great customer service. First of all, we are customer-focused. We make it our responsibility to meet your needs for RV storage quickly and courteously. Our reputation is everything, and you, the customer, are the key to maintaining our reputation. To help us continue to grow, we seek feedback from our customers on their furniture storage experience, because we want to know how we can serve you better in the future. We know that people need storage for all kinds of things. While car storage and boat storage are very common needs, there are also special items that need more attention. For those, we have use units that are environmentally controllable. Electronic equipment should never get too damp, for instance. Neither should old books or antique clothes. On the other hand, leather can dry out quickly under the wrong conditions. Care must be taken when putting such things in self storage. RV storage is relatively straight forward. You need a large, secure, clean area to keep your motor home in good condition. But things like wine collections and family heirlooms need the proper conditions to maintain their value. Keeping a collectible car in good shape can be difficult when battling the elements. Automobile storage units protect your favorite car from temperature extremes, keeping the tires in good shape and the rubber hoses inside the engine bay from deteriorating. Leather seats will crack and weather quickly when the car in is not inside or in daily use.
Renting furniture storage space at StorPlace is easy. Call us today at 1-877-4STORPL to find out how we can help. Once you have rented a self storage unit, maintaining your accounts is a snap with on-line billing and credit card payments. And as always, our customer service folks are there to serve you should any questions arise.

StorPlace of Madison, Tennessee is the premier self storage business in the 37115 zip code. A full service location offering units large enough for RV storage and small enough for furniture storage, StorPlace combines the modern features of national self storage with the personal feel of a locally-owned business. Having served customers in the Nashville area for over 30 years, we understand the character of Madison and have come to know many of our customers personally. Madison, TN, is a growing suburb just northeast of Nashville that is attracting a new segment of younger people who work in its medical industry and in the service sector. A number of recent development projects have resulted in some upscale apartment and condominium enclaves where the newer demographic has settled. The influx of young singles in their 20s and early 30s has made for a colorful nightlife in Madison. Bars and clubs serve up food and live music at night, while the streets are busy with activity during the day. Madison is a diverse locale, with distinct populations of European-Americans, African Americans and Hispanics. Many of the businesses are locally owned and operated, giving the community a personal feel not often achieved in a suburban area. While growing, Madison has not lost its history. It is now under the umbrella of the Nashville city government and the Davidson County government, but at one time, it was its own legal entity, and as a result retains its own individuality as a town. Madison has a combination of modern areas and country lanes. The Rivergate Mall area, where StorPlace is located, has the modern conveniences common to suburban neighborhoods, while the older residential areas are marked by winding, tree-lined streets and grassy parks, as well as family-owned restaurants and stores. Just outside of town, the Laurel Valley Speedway has become a stepping stone for stock car racers with aspirations to race in NASCAR events.
Madison was originally chartered as Madison Station, TN because it was home to a train depot called Amqui station, once owned by Johhny Cash and now in the process of being restored and made into a museum. Route 31, a multi-lane road that passes through the center of the area, was once a simple bison trail traveled by the famous long hunters Thomas Sharpe “Big Foot” Spencer and Kasper Mansker. Another road, Old Hickory Blvd. or Route 45, was part of the “Trail of Tears,” which was the path walked by the Cherokee Indians during their expulsion form North Carolina to the large reservation in what is now Oklahoma. President Andrew Jackson ordered the removal of the Cherokee in 1838, and the trail passes by his estate, The Hermitage, in nearby Old Hickory, TN. Madison is also the home of the Nashville National Cemetery.
StorPlace Rivergate is at 2360 Gallatin Rd, just south of Rivergate Mall. Gallatin runs all the way to East Nashville and east of Madison through Hendersonville. With the Cumberland River and Old Hickory Lake running through the area, Madison is a water sports delight. Boat storage is available at StorPlace year round. In fact we have units that will accommodate RV storage and boat storage for those who travel with both during part of the year, but who need self storage for the rest of the year. Boat storage is one of the most common uses for self storage, since boats often take too much room in the yard and won’t fit in the garage. Another common use along the same lines is car storage, since a collectible car such as an old Corvette or Mustang stays in much better condition when stored inside, but there is often no room at home for it. Madison is part of the greater Nashville area. A community with growing families, Madison residents often need extra space for furniture storage. Antique heirlooms and roll top desks should be safely stored rather than thrown into a damp and dusty basement. Nothing will crack fine furniture faster than a leaky basement, or warp wood more quickly than high humidity. We have the latest security equipment, and our multi-level storage buildings are clean, dry and well lit. Potential burglars tend to avoid a location with a lot of light. A dark less frequented space seems to be an easier mark. Good lighting in addition to an electronic gate around the grounds keeps criminals away from your precious items. We have a variety of different sized units from the smallest, a 5x5 area, to RV storage and automobile storage spaces. Our popular 10x5 garage fits an amazing 100 average size boxes! You can fit your appliances and the contents of a one bedroom apartment in a 10x10 unit. Car storage requires a slightly larger space.
There are many businesses right near the Rivergate/Madison location, as well as the ubiquitous national chains. One of the nice things about Madison is that it provides all the modern conveniences associated with consumer society, but still offers localized color of family owned shops. The area right around StorPlace is more modern. Rivergate Mall is on the other side of Gallatin Rd. It has over one million square feet of stores and restaurants and is centered around Macys, Dillards, sears and J.C. Penny. Other stores include the Bombay Company, Linens & Things and Victoria’s Secret. Eat at the Bourbon Street Café if you are hungry or set out for American Outfitters and Abercrombie & Fitch for some hip clothes. For the kids, there is the Disney Store. Immediately adjacent to StorPlace Madison is Hallmark Dodge-VW-Hyundai. There you can pick up the new VW GLI or Toureg and put your classic MG convertible or Mazda Miata into car storage. Hyundai is a car company on the rise. The introduction of its new model Sonata in 2006 set the auto world abuzz with its low price and high construction quality. Although not quite ready to compete with the likes of Honda and Toyota, its lower price has enticed many happy drivers. In any case, you can put your grandmother’s oak armoire into furniture storage then go next door and take a test drive on a new family hauler like a Dodge Caravan. Today’s minivans have more features than ever. The Caravan features a pop up table in the second row so that kids can play cards or read or eat while in the car. Video screens in the back of the front seat headrests make for quiet long journeys. Cargo space is bigger than ever, making hauling an efficient process.
Some local businesses on Gallatin Rd. include Woody’s Restaurant, a casual lunch and dinner stop, IHOP (we all know what that stands for), and Giant Subs Inc. When you’re really hungry, stop by the Home Town Buffet and eat to your heart’s content. Old favorites like chicken fried steak, pot roast, mashed potatoes, corn are plentiful. To put a hop in your step, grab some hot sauce and tacos at Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant. Of course, in Tennessee, one should never forget about barbecue food, and both Central Point Barbecue and Dickey’s Hickory Pit serve up some of the best. For beer and a burger, make your way over to Rafferty’s Restaurant and bar. Sit, relax, eat and have a good time.
Self storage can be an important part of your life. There’s no need to cram your house and garage with unused furniture, tools or sporting gear. Rent some furniture storage and clean out the basement so you can finish off and have extra living space at home. Imagine a 12x20 foot room downstairs for your big screen tv, or for the kids’ recreational area. Put your boat in self storage and make room in the garage for your car. Remember, it’s not just the boat, it’s the fishing poles, gas tanks and other paraphernalia that fills up your garage. And at StorPlace Madison, self storage has never been easier. We have a great staff of local folks who are guaranteed to shake your hand and welcome you each time you come to our facility. Our staff also understands self storage. Each individual situation is different. There’s no reason to get a larger unit when a smaller one will do. Tell us what you want to store and we will find a solution for you. Our toll free phone number is 1-877-4STORPL. Call to speak to one of our associates and get started. If you are wondering where to get boxes and packing tape for your move, look no further than your local StorPlace office.

StorPlace Bellevue at 7332 Tolbert Rd., just off Old Hickory Rd, is the best self storage solution to your storage problems and is near the central shopping and dining areas in the 37209 zip code. StorPlace accommodates the need for RV storage, as well as car storage and boat storage, and strives to make these experiences positive. Furniture storage is sometimes necessary, and our smaller units are great for living room sets or the contents of an apartment. The suburban Bellevue community has become part of Nashville. At one time, however, it was a small village that served the farming industry outside of the city. Located on the rail line, Bellevue was the depot stop for trains delivering feed, fertilizers, seeds, machinery and other farming necessities. The town also supplied living needs, such as clothes and food, and had a hardware store a post office and a Masonic lodge. The town remained mostly unchanged until the post-WWII period when Nashville began to spread out. Still, however, the town center was largely unchanged in the 1960s. Of course, growth was universal to small towns on the outskirts of cities, and Bellevue was no exception. By the 1970s, the Nashville city residential area had reached Bellevue and Rte. 70S was expanded into a four lane road. Farmland had begun to be developed into suburban neighborhoods. The telling moment was the takeover of the Bellevue post office by the Nashville postal system and the incorporation of the 37209 zip code into the city government. The coming of the post-war boomers meant growth in commercial activity in the area. Along the way, several parks were established, including the Harpeth River Park, which runs along the Harpeth River, and Harpeth Knoll Park. Harpeth Valley Elementary School was the inspiration and setting for the country song “Harper Valley PTA,” later made into a film of the same name starring Barbara Eden of “I Dream of Genie” fame. The film illustrates the battle between a liberal single mother, Stella Johnson, and the conservative school board of Harper Valley. Today, Bellevue is one of the more densely populated suburbs of Nashville, mostly due to a high density of condominium and apartment complexes. Growth since 2000 has been above the national average. Several upscale neighborhoods along Route 100 have become popular with commuters who work in or near Nashville. The Bellevue Center Mall provides regional access to national chain stores. Several golf courses, including the Harpeth Valley Golf Club, provide golfers with a place to throw down the links. A new shopping center along Rte 100 called Harpeth Village is testament to the continued population growth of the area. Kimco Developers, Inc. says the center will be anchored by a Publix supermarket and will include a Kyoto Steakhouse. It will contain 89,000 square feet of shopping space. Still, the homes in Bellevue retain a nice suburban air. Grassy areas abound and the newer complexes have extensive gardening that creates a pleasant atmosphere. The town is still served by a local newspaper, the Westview, which maintains the local community pages and contains news about individuals, local events and Bellevue history. It also brings news from surrounding counties to the west of Nashville. The Bellevue area has a vibrant arts and culture system that includes Chaffins Barn Dinner Theater. With top notch shows and fine dining, urban sophistication has reached the once sleepy farm town. StorPlace Bellevue, 2332 Tolbert Rd, is on the east side of town off Old Hickory Blvd. A modern self storage business, we have units ranging in size from small to large and specialize in furniture storage, car storage, RV storage and boat storage. Typical of suburban areas, residents often outgrow their homes, especially first time homebuyers, and need extra space for things that will no longer fit into their house but that they don’t want to throw away or sell. Even more usual, however, are apartment dwellers who need temporary self storage after they have relocated to Bellevue from a larger home in another area. College students often share space with other students and change locations often. Their self storage needs are often temporary, but essential. Boat storage is important for boaters who live in condos with no place to put their Bass Tracker and relevant gear. Fortunately for people just moving to Bellevue and in need of temporary self storage, StorPlace is right next to Budget Truck Rental. Upon arriving, we are on the way to your new home, so you can stop by, unload, and check your truck into Budget. If you are hungry from moving, which would be natural, there are a host of local eateries on Old Hickory Blvd.. Cosi Bella, a tremendous Mexican food site, is on the corner of Tolbert and Old Hickory. Sonic Drive-in is up the road and the Wild Bean Café is right next to that. In the other direction is the fast-food staple Jack in the Box, and the ever present breakfast food specialist Waffle House, open 24 hours for Belgian Waffle cravings. You can find straps for tying down your belongings after taking them out of StorPlace at the local Kmart. Try Target for some kitchen appliances, clothes or linens on Old Hickory Blvd the nearby Sams Club for bulk bargains. The Belle Valley Rd. apartments, complete with tennis courts and pool, are across the street. Residents there have the easiest access to self storage and car storage. But self storage is available to the entire Bellevue community and is easily accessible from everywhere in town. Closet space can be very limited in apartments, and sometimes there isn’t enough space to handle things such as seasonal clothing, furniture, small appliances and auto. We like to keep such things on hand, but they can cramp our lifestyles. There is plenty of shopping nearby as well, so choosing StorPlace makes a lot of sense. Like a lot of suburbs, Bellevue has several golf courses for residents and visitors to enjoy. The Belle Meade Country Club and Harpeth Valley Golf Center are both very popular during the warm season. The Baber Ruth & Little League town park is at the end of McPherson Dr., and many a youngster has built dreams of glory on those ball fields. The little league park indicates the degree to which Bellevue is a true community in the old sense of the word, despite its suburban overtones. Percy Warner Park is a well utilized area for walking the dog, playing Frisbee or just getting outside. The Harpeth River Park in Bellevue has walking paths along the river’s edge for people to take in the cool running waters.
Self storage comes in all shapes and sizes. At StorPlace, we provide everything from the 5x5 furniture storage space to the car storage space all the way up to an RV storage garage. Having started our business in Nashville in the 1970s, we have grown with the community but are still a local franchise. It is our goal to be a part of the community, rather than an imposition on it. For that reason, we believe in personal service. When you need automobile storage, we are interested in getting you the right space at the least cost. All of our employees are qualified in the latest information on self storage, and can inform you about all your options. We don’t just want your business, we want your approval. If we don’t satisfy you, we are doing the community a disservice. To find out if you agree with what we’re saying here, call our toll-free number at 1-877-4STORPL, or our local number, 615-356-3600. You can visit our clean and safe facility, view our security installations and talk to someone who will help you find what you need. At StorPlace Bellevue self storage, we are dedicated to helping you move as well. Always a stressful event, moving and packing can be made worse by disjunctions in timing or lack of space in a newer or older home. Where do you put the new living room set until the new house is ready? That’s what self storage is all about. Temporary or long term, furniture storage can make things a lot easier, especially when your apartment can’t accommodate grandma’s oak dresser or your brother’s motorcycle. Boxes are great for moving until you run out or try to tape them up with painter’s masking tape. In addition to self storage, we have all the necessary supplies for moving and packaging items. For our customers, we give a discount of 10% on all those materials. Just remember, StorPlace is your place for self storage in Bellevue and throughout the Nashville area. Franklin, TN is a bedroom community on the outskirts of Nashville. As the county seat for Williamson County, Franklin bustles during the week and sleepy on Sunday afternoons. Franklin is one of those places that attracts the best and the brightest from the nearby city. Like Greenwich, CT, Franklin is loaded with stars and executives from the music industry and other enterprises. Williamson County is one of the wealthiest in the country, and as the county seat, Franklin follows suit. To say that it is a desirable place to live would be an understatement. Franklin is truly a rural postcard with out the disadvantage of being in the middle of nowhere. On the contrary, Franklin has all the modern conveniences in addition to easy access to downtown Nashville and its business and cultural activities. The whole of Franklin is scenic. From the historic downtown Main St. to the old plantation homes outside of town, the city retains its colonial southern roots. Cobbled streets and brick storefronts beckon a simpler time. Its rolling hills blaze with turning leaves in the fall. Streams run from the ridges in the surrounding landscape, and homes built in the 1800s rest with leisure in the meadows outside the business district. An interesting history can sometimes keep a town from becoming too commercial or modern. Franklin’s, having been founded in 1799, has a well traveled past with roots deep in southern traditions and events. Although the population is estimated at 55,000, most of the growth has been well planned and residences have been built with plenty of green space in the field and woods surrounding the county seat. Many of the families living in Franklin are descended from settlers and soldiers in the Civil War.
Prior to the Civil War, Franklin was largely a traditional farming and hunting community, with an elite group serving as local government agents and business men. It was a town like many others whose life was relatively uneventful. It was, wealthy, though, having since been recognized as the center of the plantation economy in Tennessee. Large plantations fueled the local economy and a busy social life welcomed young debutants. The Civil War wreaked havoc on the town, and as it was the center of plantation life, it also became central to the war. There were many battles fought in or near the area and young men from the community went to fight, as they did all over the nation. Union troops occupied the area for three years during this time, which put a halt to much of the way of life there. In 1864, the warring sides waged the Battle of Franklin, a devastating conflict during which 8,000 lives were lost and during which the Confederate Army suffered one of its worst defeats of the war. Shortly afterwards, the Confederate Army lost in the battle of Nashville. Those two losses effectively ended the participation of the Tennessee Army in the War. At this time, most of the available space in Franklin was converted into hospital space to deal with the teems of injured soldiers from the Battle of Franklin. As on person put it, the Battle wasn’t the beginning of the end of the war in Tennessee, it was the end of the end. Franklin was one of many southern towns crushed during the war. It took a century to rebuild the economy, but as it once was, Franklin is a peaceful and wealthy place again. Franklin’s appeal hasn’t been lost on regional folks. The list of famous people who live there is as long as the many unknown success stories who have migrated there. Some of the most well known country stars of today and yesterday are residents, including Alan Jackson, Sarah Evans and classic crooner George Jones. Rockers Sheryl Crow and Michael McDonald (formerly of the Doobie Brothers) both own homes there, as does NASCAR hero Darrell Walltrip. Tennessee Titans footballer Adam “Pacman” Jones makes Franklin his home, and film and recording star Ashley Judd also lives in town. Despite its star power, Franklin has a diverse base. Houses range from the mansion to the old colonial downtown, and real estate values, though above average for the area, range from $100,000 to several million. In all, the community is far enough away from Nashville to have its own character, but close enough to draw people out from the city. Many consider this type of suburban neighborhood to be the cream of the crop. Your local StorPlace self storage is on Hwy 96 just west of downtown. It is there that people rent boat storage and car storage. With a growing population, Franklin’s storage needs is also expanding. StorPlace is growing too to meet those needs. Our facility reflects the self storage desires of Franklin, offering large RV storage type spaces and smaller furniture storage bins. The buildings are multi-storied and dry, with HVAC systems designed to make self storage comfortable and safe for all kinds of items. Boating on the Harpeth River, which runs through town, is popular, and people will put their watercraft in boat storage for the off season to keep them in good condition. One of the more popular needs is automobile storage. Classic cars and sports cars should both be kept inside to avoid having their value decrease.
Franklin is far from devoid of contemporary conveniences. Cool Springs Galleria is a regional mall outside of town. Careful planning brought the shopping center within reach of Franklin residents without infringing on the historic part of town. With 141 stores, the Galleria is one of the largest retail malls in the country. Self storage is an important part of shopping and remodeling. When you’re done picking up a new living room set at Macy’s, put the old one in furniture storage until you sell it. Self storage is an important part of quality living. It can seem like your house is getting smaller and smaller as we accumulate merchandise.
Today, we update our appliances, electronics, and furniture more often than we used to. The availability of affordable but quality goods makes it easier to do so. Self storage can let you store the outdated stuff until summer when it’s yard sale season. When you play Gin Rummy, you have to discard a card. Inevitably someone picks up that card and makes use of it. The same is true of our old items. Yard sales are the traditional way to recycle unwanted furniture or appliances. After the renovation, take the old ceiling fans and end tables, put them in self storage, and sell them in the spring to someone who needs them. You can make some money in the process, and in the meantime, your house and garage aren’t filled with boxes of unused dishes and wine glasses. Along the same lines, why not put your ski boat into boat storage for the winter. The boat will stay in better condition and the yard will seem larger and more graceful without the eyesore of a boat with shrink wrap on it ruining the view. One of the most common failures in a boat are the cables that control the engine and the steering cable. They need to be greased up every year, and kept out of the elements as much as possible. Boat storage can protect these working parts from corrosion and eventual failure. There’s nothing worse than getting your boat out for the first time, getting ready to crank it up and finding out the steering cable is frozen and the engine won’t turn. Your motor home or RV also takes up a lot of space on the property. At StorPlace Franklin, you can put it in RV storage when you’re not using it. Very few people live in their RVs. Most of us take a coupe of trips a year and then let it sit. A vehicle that sits for a long period of time is the target of decay. When not in use, vehicles should be kept inside. A cover is good, but it won’t protect the tires and rubber hoses from the deteriorating effects of the weather. For this same reason, automobile storage is an important element to maintaining a car. Franklin, TN, is a great place to live and work. With its downtown trolley, historic buildings and layout, Civil War Reenactments, and new Skater Park, and the now annual Franklin Jazz Festival, it has become a worldly town, despite its rural nature. StorPlace self storage is the premier facility for making extra room in your life and for the family with an active lifestyle. Call 1-877-4STORPL to schedule an appointment today.

StorPlace of South Nashville is the self storage of choice for southern Nashville. The greater Nashville Metro area has been recognized as one of the fastest growing areas of the U.S. As of 2005 its regional population was about 1,400,000. The city itself contributes about half of the population. A multi-faceted city, Nashville is rife with areas that have their own traditions, geography, ethnic backgrounds and religious institutions. Traveling south from downtown on Nolensville Road one passes through South Nashville on the way to Nolensville, a rural town that has not yet become a suburb of the city. While downtown Nashville is urban in nature and full of the energy that gives Star City its reputation for excitement, South Nashville becomes increasingly country. The hills grow larger, the population density falls, the trees get larger and before long one has passed out of the metro area and into different time and place. Ironically, some places within the city limits, such as South Nashville, are less urban than some nearby suburban towns that are not under the aegis of the City Government. South Nashville encompasses the most distant limits of the metro area, and sometimes feels like the countryside that surrounds the city. In several areas, rock outcroppings limit development and signal the end of the Nashville Basin, the geographic depression in which Nashville is situated. Typically, Bell Rd. and Old Hickory Blvd., which are contiguous, signify the end of suburban and the beginning of country. Residents who live along this border are treated to the finest of suburban living and despite being on the southern edge of the city, are still quite connected to it via the southern branch of the metro area rail system. The South Nashville branch of StorPlace is right on that border. The property is at 14985 Old Hickory Blvd and sits in the 37211 zip code. Old Hickory Blvd/Bell Rd. is a commercial artery that runs along the southern edge of the city and supports the suburban population there. The area has a complete array of stores and services. Fro example, Storplace is adjacent to Waffle House and Burger King. Waffle House is famous for fresh food, quick service and breakfast all day long. Sir Pizza is just east of StorPlace, and is the Nashville chain with both delivery and a seating area. Nolensville Road is also strewn with restaurants like Jonathan’s Grill at 5805 Nolensville Pike, which will cook up a fabulous home cooked meal in minutes. For Mexican food, try the upscale dining experience at La Terraza. The ambiance and original take on food at a fine restaurant can soothe the senses and force us to relax after a tough day. Locals know that Krystal at 5750 Nolensville Pike can achieve this goal. Residents in South Nashville don’t need to go far to see a movie either, as Hickory Hollow Cinemas are east on Bell Rd. NADDCO Information Technology Services can solve business problems, and Volunteer Beauty Inc. can redo your hair with style.
Everyone knows that some of the most avid sports fans live in the suburbs of big cities. Nashville is home to the Tennessee Titans pro football team, and every Sunday groups of tailgaters head to the Adelphia Coliseum for a little R&R and some hard-nosed football. Titans fans are some of the most dedicated in the country, and that’s no surprise considering the team was welcomed with open arms from the Texas city of Houston. Prior to 1996, the Titans were called the Oilers, and had been in Houston, the city of oil, since its inception. The Oilers of the 1970s were famous for the Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell, one of a few running backs to rush for over 2,000 in a season. In the 1990s, however, the franchise was seeking a new stadium and could not come to an agreement with the city. It turned to Nashville, where local voters approved the construction of a new stadium. The deal was struck in 1996 and by 1997 the team was playing in Tennessee as the Tennessee Oilers. They played the 1997 season at the Liberty Bowl, and the 1998 season at the Vanderbilt University arena. By 1998 the new stadium was complete and a name change approved. The 1999 season brought success to the city, but it was the 2000 push for the Superbowl that brought the franchise renewed fame. Led by quarterback Steve McNair, running back Eddie George, and receiver Kevin Dyson on the offensive side, and by tackle Jevon Kearse on the defensive side, the team rolled through the divisional and conference playoffs to face the St. Louis Rams in a regional battle in the Superbowl. The Rams’ high-powered offense had put everyone to shame that year, but the Titans played tough and with time running out trailed by a touchdown. A last-minute pass from McNair to Dyson, and a tragic and desperate run towards to the end zone saw Dyson come within a foot of the end line for a tying touchdown in one of the most thrilling endings in championship football history. Fans that couldn’t make it to the game watched at home and in bars and some even pulled their tailgating gear out for some cold weather barbecuing. Tailgating is a great pastime in this country, but it requires a lot of equipment to be done right. Many fans put their portable grills, coolers, Titans towels, blankets and propane tanks in self storage during the week and pull it out on Sunday for the game. Sometimes they’ve already rented the space for boat storage or car storage, and double up on its usefulness. At StorPlace we want to be your home for self storage. Whether you’re a Titans fan or a classic car collector, we have a unit that is the right size for you. South Nashville residents will appreciate the time we take to make self storage as easy as casting a line for bass walking the dog and as secure as money in the bank. What you put in self storage today will be there tomorrow. Our toll free phone number, 1-877-4STORPL, makes the phone call a couple of push buttons away. Nashville has a healthy student population. Trevecca Nazarene University (TNU) is near the northern border of South Nashville and a short ride down Nolensville Rd. With 2,300 plus students, Trevecca is a mid-sized college with some graduate programs. Affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, the University sponsors 13 academic departments, including English, Communications, Music, human performance, Nursing, Psychology and Human Social and Behavioral Sciences. Its lone doctoral program is in Education. It has a School of Business, a school of Education and a School of Religious Studies that features a Master’s Degree program. The school was founded 107 years ago by J. O. McLurkan, and became affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene in 1917. Originally downtown, it settled in its current location in 1935. The original site became the location of the now famous Ryman Auditorium. TNU is one of eight Nazarene Colleges in the country. It represents the “Southeast Region” of the loosely formed network. Though the regions are not contiguous with the normal national regional terminology, the separate schools have a general agreement not to recruit students from other Nazarene regions. Like many college students, TNU students sometimes need to take advantage of self storage because of transient housing situations and limited space. Students use StorPlace for furniture storage and for putting away winter or summer clothing or files and textbooks from previous classes. Some students need car storage, as parking is always limited on college campus, and car can go without use for periods of time. The Nazarene campus is small enough to walk to the necessary buildings most of the time. While students usually need limited space, families will rent larger units to accommodate anything from a boat to an RV. RV storage is limited, so be sure to reserve space in advance, especially if you know when you will need it. We will do our absolute best to find you RV storage in our self storage network. For other self storage, call us to find out what unit would be most appropriate for you. If you describe what you have, we will calculate the space you need. You’d be very surprised at how many items you can fit in a 10X10 garage. When space is dedicated for storage, it’s a lot easier to organize items by putting the least used at the back and the rest in the front. Call our local number 615-832-3388, or stop by 14985 Old Hickory Blvd to see our facility today. Self Storage Network and Storage Concierge Self Storage Finder

The Hermitage self storage facility is conveniently situated at 3986 Central Pike near J. Percy Pierce Lake in the 37076 zip. Also near the Summit Medical Center and a short drive from Nashville International Airport, StorPlace Hermitage self storage and automobile storage is nearby graduate students at one of Nashville’s Universities who live in the eastern suburb of the city. Summit Medical Center is a vital economic driver and care provider for the Hermitage community. Established I 1994 as an expansion of the Donelson Hospital, Summit is well known for its cancer research and care division, and for its cardiac center. The specialists who work at the center live in the homes and apartments in Hermitage. The center has given rise to a series of external offices for doctors in a variety of specialties. For example, Katherine Hoeft, M.D. and Jonda W. Young, MD, each have offices on Central Pike and First Blvd, right outside the center. Summit Center gave rise to a series of smaller care facilities in the area, including but not limited to Summit Primary Care, which specializes in pediatrics, Healing Waters Nashville, a hydrotherapy alternative healing business, and the Summit Audiology and Hearing Aid Center at 1313 Central Court. Hermitage is in the 37076 zip code and is the eastern outpost of the Nashville metro government umbrella. Off rte 40 about 10 miles east of Nashville proper, Hermitage is on the way to the more rural town of Lebanon, TN. Hermitage itself is a mixture of people, styles, new growth and long standing traditions. Its main claim to fame is The Hermitage mansion, the former home of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. A stunning Grecian-style building, the mansion and grounds are the fourth most visited presidential home in the country. Other than a tornado outburst that toppled a series of cedar trees that Jackson himself planted in the early 1800s, the Hermitage has remained the in its original condition since 1889 when it was converted to a museum for the public to commemorate the life of Jackson and to act as a representation of life in the Antebellum south. The Hermitage was the center of Jackson’s family plantation and in its hay day was a working farm with over 1,000 acres of land and 44 slaves. The mansion was not destroyed during the Civil War, as many others were. The presidential home, however, had been destroyed once due to fire long before the war. Jackson rebuilt the mansion in its current style. The grounds are a mass of gardens and walking paths and contain the tombs of Jacks, his wife Rachel and their two children. It is rather a memorial to the family, and in that regard a somewhat somber museum. The gardens are staggeringly beautiful and a stunning example of southern horticulture.
While many tourists visit Hermitage to see Jackson’s former homestead, many locals from Nashville and the surrounding area to visit the J. Percy Pierce Dam and lake recreation area, which is a busy watersports and fishing location. The lake is surrounded on all sides by public parkes and picnic areas. As a government sponsored and built lake area, there is very little development along the lake, so it remains scenic. StorPlace Hermitage self storage is located near the northern boundary of the lake, which is highlighted by the J. Percy Priest Dam. Originally a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project, construction was completed in 1968, four years after it started. The dam blocks the Stones River, which is a tributary of the Cumberland River, which flows through Nashville and all of the Cumberland Valley. Previous to the dam, the Stones River was prone to frequent flooding. The Flood Control Act of 1946 called for remediation to the Stones River flood problem. Although it took over 20 years for the dam to be commissioned and built, the resulting flood control opened the door for new growth in the form of residential and commercial areas. Hermitage expanded quickly into the flood plain and has become a busy suburb, although its geography of hills and valleys keeps development from overwhelming the natural scenery. The dam also contains a hydroelectric power plant which supplies energy to the area and that helps keep the area from being entirely dependent on fossil fuel electric production. This aids in maintaining good air quality.
Hermitage is also a whistle stop on the newly formed Music City Star Rail line that runs between Lebanon and Nashville with renovated Amtrak locomotives and rail cars culled from the Chicago Metra service. The Star, so named for the star shaped service it plans around Nashville and for the preponderance of country music stars in Nashville, is an experiment of sorts, designed to prove the usefulness and benefits of public transportation in the metro area. The train went on line in 2006, and was the first train service in the area since Amtrak’s Floridian service ended in 1979. The tracks are from the old Tennessee Central Railway Service, which had moved passengers since the 1960s. The establishment of the railway secures Hermitage as an important part of Nashville. Among the ranks of businesses there is the technology headquarters of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu accounting firm, the largest auditing firm in the country. The office there is over 200,000 square feet, and there are over 1,000 employees. Between the accounting firm and Summit Medical Center, Hermitage has a healthy economy and an increasingly vital residential population.
StorPlace Hermitage is in proximity to the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd and Central Pike about a mile to the east. There are all sorts of eateries in which to enjoy a meal. Try Panera Bread Co., originally the St. Louis Bread Company, for a Panini sandwich or a mocha latte with whipped cream. Oddly enough, Panera is still called the St. Louis Bread Co. in St. Louis. Shops in other cities were called Panera to avoid confusion. “Pan” is the romance language Latin root of the word “bread.” They are known for their specialty bagels, like the Asiago cheese bagel and the Apple Crumb bagel. Taki Japanese Cuisine is on Hickory Blvd. They serve fresh sushi and sashimi, udon, or teriyaki beef. The Royal Thai Restaurant and Cinco de Mayo, named after the Mexican Holiday on May 15th, serve excellent Asian and Mexican food, and Gyros Pizza features the Greek Specialty Gyro, a fried pita wrapped around lamb or pork with tomatoes, onions and Tzatziki sauce. StorPlace Hermitage is on the same lot as Hermitage Budget Truck Rental where you can rent a box truck or pickup to move your belongings to and from your new house. StorPlace is between three apartment complexes, the Colonnade Apartments, Margaret Robertson Garden Apartments, and Burning Tree Apartments. Residents there often use extra space for car storage or boat storage, and especially furniture storage. Nurses and medical professionals are highly sought after, and also move a lot because of opportunities elsewhere. Self storage allows them to move all of their stuff even if they can’t find an apartment as large as the last house they lived in.
Self storage can be an excellent short-term problem solver for executives who are suddenly relocated and need time find the right home for their families. With the advent of the Star City Rail Line, apartment dwellers with no garage and not much use for their cars can put them in automobile storage at StorPlace. We feature quiet clean buildings and protection from burglars in the form of a code operated metal gates that only allow authorized individuals to enter. Our staff can help with packing materials and we provide dollys and carts so you won’t break your back putting items in self storage. Furniture storage of antiques can be accomplished in one of our temperature-controlled spaces. Antique dealers take advantage of our units to stock recent items from estate sales that aren’t quite ready for the market. Automobile collectors use car storage to isolate old cars from weather events. Whether you need RV storage, furniture storage or car storage, StorPlace can accommodate your needs.
