cheap storage
3:12 PM on Aug. 29, 2008

College students are often strapped for cash. Most of them do not work full time jobs, and their student financial aid may assist with some of their bills, but certainly not all of them. Living in the dorm can be stressful and almost as expensive as renting an apartment.

When summer comes around, the dorms empty out and many college students just throw stuff away because they do not want to have to lug it all around with them all summer. This seems very wasteful, although the neighborhood residents really enjoy going through all of the perfectly usable items such as electronics, shelving, furniture and other things that are in great condition.

It seems like using a storage facility would be a great idea and it would save money in the long run. Putting your things in cheap storage for the summer would keep you from having to waste even more money buying all new things for your dorm room the following year.

We do live in a wasteful society, it seems. Anything that we can do to avoid blatantly wasting and frivolously spending will be in the best interests of all involved. Storage can be very inexpensive, especially smaller units. We are talking just ten to twenty bucks a month for a space that is large enough for you to store small furniture and plenty of boxes

Learning to be frugal when you are in college will take you a long way towards being able to support yourself beyond your education.
