Self Storage Social Networks

As apartments get smaller and our cache of belongings knows no bounds the self storage industry has profited. The growing demand for somewhere to put our belongings has resulted in self storage witnessing the fact that this is the fastest growing area of commercial real estate.

Just as the value of self storage real estate is rising, so is the value of the industry itself – the national growth rate of the industry as a whole is somewhere in the region of 23 million dollars. Some areas of the country have seen greater self storage growth than others, but they need to be on the alert for a possible downturn due to the instability of interest rates and the market itself.

The size and range of self storage that is available is largely determined by customer needs, with the average unit measuring from 5x10 to 10x10. Many factors affect the amount and type of self storage that is on offer with both tourism and climate playing a large part in this. These, along with activities such as boating and camping also play a part in the type of self storage service available in a given local area. It is not uncommon to find storage facilities that cater for RV vehicles and boats across America. One of the reasons for this is that people will purchase a large and expensive item while giving little or no thought as to where they are going to keep it. Thus, self storage services may often have some kind of secure parking facilities for such items.

If you decide that you need self storage facilities in your local area then it is a good idea to do some research and find out which particular service is best suited to both your needs and your budget – this avoids the confusion of wandering around different companies and settling on the first one that has anything approaching your needs because you are tired.

Not sure of where your local self storage providers are located? Then why not search online, here you’ll find that there are self storage social networks and self storage directories – so you are bound to find something in your local area that suits your budget and your needs. Don’t be one of those people who stumbles upon their self storage provider by accident. When you search online for somewhere to store your possessions you’ll find that there are a lot of companies out there, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one that is appropriate to your needs.

One of the best things about searching online for any product or service is that it obviates the need to do your research at certain times of the day. The internet is open twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, which should give you plenty of time to find what you want. Many self-storage facilities have their own web pages that detail their services, and very often their prices as well and this gives you the opportunity to find exactly what you want.
An increasing number of people are beginning to recognize the benefits of searching online for the goods and services that they want. Some research indicates that more than half of all self storage users found what they wanted on the internet. When you start to search online it makes it much easier to devise a short list of those services that appeal – it also means that you know something about the company and their services before you telephone them.

The easiest way of searching for self storage on the internet is to start with very broad search terms and then to narrow your search by area and type of service that you are looking for – this way you are accessing the broad market as well as the particular market for self storage provision.

As the internet has grown and become a prominent feature of nations and cities across the world, searching online for something like self storage has become normal practice for many people. The internet has become a regular place for product and service research because of the flexibility it offers in terms of variety and time. So many people now find their self storage providers online that it could be said that the self storage industry and the internet make great business partners.

Word of mouth is always the best advertising. That’s why we at StorPlace in Bowling Green, KY, want you to try our self storage services; because we know you’ll tell others about what a great experience it was. Our self storage model has been perfected in the Nashville area over the last 30 years. Our commitment is to bring the same business practices to Bowling Green and to make self storage as pleasant for you as it is for us. We can be reached at 270-842-0986 via a local call and 1-877-4STORPL for toll free callers. Bowling is unique city. Even as a regional center, its expansion has been slow and steady, allowing for good planning practices such as greenways and careful development. The result is a visually pleasing appearance, especially in the three outdoor seasons when the gardens and trees are in bloom. We are located in the southern portion of the city at 1628 Campbell Lane in the 42104 zip code. We can store large or small items, and have a limited number of bays for RV storage. Our medium units can be utilized for furniture storage.. We have heated and cooled units for specialty applications. We encourage car storage, while customers seek us out for boat storage. Nestled below Billy Goat Hill and Briggs Hill, Bowling Green is the home of Western Kentucky University and their sports teams, the Hilltoppers. Kentucky is rural state for the most part, as indicated by the fact the Bowling Green is the fourth largest city in the state at a population of about 52,000 souls. It is the county seat of Warren County.

Historically, Bowling is an old town. Settled in 1794 by the Moore brothers and incorporated in 1798 after the brothers donated land for the town center. In 1810, Bowling Green had 157 residents, however, population increased with the steamboat traffic along the Barren River. A series of locks and canals increased the steamboat traffic further, and in 1832, a rail line was connected to the city. Bowling Green was an agricultural success due to fine nutrient rich soil and sufficient yearly rainfall. In the 1870s industries other than agriculture were succeeding there. The most important of these was Carie Burnam Taylor’s Dress Making Company, which had over 200 employees and was a significant factory in the continued success of the town after its occupation by Confederate forces in the 1860s.  A new County Courthouse was constructed in 1868. A woman’s college was founded there in 1889, but the school eventually closed and the property was sold to the Western Kentucky State Normal School, which is now Western Kentucky University.

Today, Bowling Green is the apple of General Motors’ eye. That’s because it is the location of GM’s Corvette plant. As the preeminent American sports car, the Corvette is known world wide. GM moved the plant to Bowling Green from St. Louis in 1981. The National Corvette Museum was built in 1991, and the National Corvette Homecoming attract visitors from around the country each year. The Corvette with its long sleek hood and flared fenders, has been an icon of American power for decades, for better or worse. A muscle car extraordinaire, the Corvette holds a special place in the hearts of many an auto enthusiast. Although not as sophisticated as some European supercars, the Corvette typically was less expensive and delivered gobs of straight line horsepower to huge rear tires. Today’s Corvettes compete in everyway with the world’s most fantastical road gobblers. Bowling Green is the vortex of the Corvette phenomenon, which makes it an instant destination for travelers and auto nuts. Remember, StorPlace delivers on automobile storage. With a relatively new facility, we can baby your collectible Corvette until you are ready to take it out for spin. Owning a Corvette is an investment, and protecting your investments is of primary importance in today’s world.

Yes, Bowling Green has come a long way since 1810. From farming to technology, the city has transitioned into the modern world. GM is not the only corporation to relocate there. Holley Performance Products, which builds specialized performance parts for cars and is famous for its Holley carbs, has its headquarters in the city. Fruit of the Loom, Weyerhauser, and Camping World also have offices and plants in Bowling Green. As a result, the economy is very healthy, while the cost of living remains low. The city has seen a 13 percent increase in jobs since 1991, making Bowling Green a popular place to relocate to. Relocation and moving in general is one of the biggest reasons people seek out self storage. In between houses, or during apartment living while looking for a house, it becomes necessary to store belongings for a period of time. Furniture storage is most common during these times. Boat storage is another necessity for people between homes.

The historic downtown of Bowling Green, KY, is known as the “District.” It is formed around a traditional town square with wide streets and is currently in a revitalization phase under the direction of the Downtown Development Authority. Circus Square Park, a mostly vacant area near the square, is planned for development, and to date, block grants from federal and state coiffeurs has yielded over 5 million in funds to acquire the land and proceed with development plans. The District itself is energetic. People gather there to frequent the unique stores and restaurants that give Bowling Green its distinct personality. The Bowling Green Western Symphony Orchestra has its office on the square. The 440 Main features hand carved steaks in the district, while Utley’s stays open after dinner and is a favorite nightlife spot. Morris Jewelers has its shop there, and there are four art galleries in the center of town. Around the business district, Bowling Green spreads out in organized fashion. Malls and chain sores are located to the south of town. Surrounding the whole area are a eight different golf courses. Newer residential areas fill in the spaces. StorPlace Bowling Green is on the edge of Shawnee Estates and Eastland Park, two upscale developments southwest of the town center. A few minutes drive north puts you in the rural outskirts of town. Kentucky is famous for its horses. The Kentucky Derby draws hundreds of thousands people each year. The Kentucky countryside is dotted with horse farms breeding top quality race horses. The area surround Bowling Green has its own share of horse breeders, and should one want to become the owner of a race horse, or any good horse, you don’t have to look any further than Magnolia Quarter Horses or one of the other brokers in the vicinity. Kentucky’s grassy swales and broad hillsides are a perfect grazing ground for raising horses.

Whether you are a residential customer looking for furniture storage, or a Corvette fanatic needing car storage, or even if you own a small business and need extra room for surplus, we can assist you with self storage. Our buildings are secure, dry, clean, and come in a variety of styles. We maintain the grounds meticulously and can even give you a discount on moving necessities. Our larger bays are appropriate for RV storage, though those spaces fill up quickly and it is important to reserve them ahead of time. Fishermen and water skiers will be thankful for our boat storage. No matter who you are, though, our customer service is the same. We always appreciate your business and try to show it by as helpful as we can. Self storage is the most convenient way to make more room in the house or to keep special items up to par. Wouldn’t it be a great idea to get a lot of things out of the basement and into self storage so you can organize all the boxes and keep track of them? Do your overstuffed closets explode when you open the door? It time, then, to put those valuables away in a safe place. Just pack up the truck and take it to StorPlace on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green, KY. We are near other businesses on Campbell Lane, such as Witt’s Berbecue and Zaxby’s, as well as Garcia Grill. Zaxby’s is an original American Cuisine eatery with tasty twists on traditional recipes. At StorPlace we want to add a twist to the original self storage recipe. Try us today.

Nashville has grown as a metropolis to incorporate villages that were once on the outskirts of town. Antioch is one of those towns, and Antioch StorPlace is the best neighborhood self storage facility in the area. Our address is 5251 Mt. View Rd, Antioch, TN, 37013. Access from Rte. 24 is easy via the Haywood Lane exit. From there, turn right on Antioch Blvd. and follow that until making a right on Hickory Hollow Parkway. Mt. View Rd. is on your left.

We are on the eastern edge of Hickory Hollow Mall, and below Hickory Hollow Terrace apartments. Fortunately for students, we are near to Vanderbilt University, Tennessee State University, Peabody College, Belmont University and Trevecca Nazarene University. Our proximity to the schools makes it easy for students and faculty to temporarily or permanently leave items in self storage. Most importantly, however, we service the Antioch greater community, as people who use our boat storage and car storage already know. We are proud to do business in the Antioch area. Our temporary units are 5x5, enough to store some extra file boxes or a few pieces of furniture.

For car storage, a larger unit is necessary, and StorPlace has plenty of those. We have many customers from Hickory Hollow Terrace Apartments. People with decent sized apartments, but no property, take advantage of our RV storage as well. We have units in 25 square foot tiers, so that specific self store solutions can be found. Call 615-731-1331 on a local phone or 1-877-4STORPL to make a toll free call. We want to get you started with automobile storage before your favorite hot rod starts to be affected by the rain, heat, and UV rays from the sun.

Much of the country is experiencing growth today. The Baby Boomer generation is aging, though living longer than ever, and their children are causing a second baby boomer wave. Smaller cities such as Nashville with revitalized downtowns and less crowded streets are attracting young families eager to avoid the crowds and high real estate prices in urban centers such as Los Angles and New York. In a more recent movement, corporations are looking to find homes in smaller cities because overhead is lower and the workforce more available.

The revolution in computer communications – the internet – has made it possible to do business even if you are not in New York or Chicago where rents for office space are astronomical. Nashville has been in a cycle of growth since the 1960s, with acceleration in the last decade. As a result, the city’s government has expanded into the region’s small towns, and they are joining together as one large metropolis. Antioch, TN, self storage at StorPlace is always there to meet your needs. We grow as the community does, adding space and raising standards. We want to set the bar so high on service that nobody can follow suit. Give us a try and let us know what you think.

The Antioch area has remained an old fashioned blue collar area with a strong sense of family and a deep feeling for “neighborhood.” While the standard of living is good, wealth is not the major factor in one’s social classification. Rather, it is important that people support neighborhood initiatives, especially those that lead to bonds between family and friends. Perhaps these values came from Antioch’s tradition of farming and skilled labor trades, such as Blacksmithing. After all, it wasn’t until the late 1960s that the village was consumed by Nashville. Serious population increase became possible when Nashville extended the public sewer system to include Antioch. The town, though, was initially settled over 190 years ago in 1810, and was named after the Antioch First Baptist Church that was constructed there at the time. The original town had a feed mill, which was important to farmers and livestock growers. Mill Creek, a small tributary of the Cumberland River, fed the water wheel. Today, Antioch is much different. Its economy is driven by the Nashville service industry. It streets are busy and a fair amount of folks commute into the downtown area of Nashville everyday. Many new apartment buildings and starter home developments have made the area a favorite of new families and younger professionals.

Those new elements merge with the traditional Antioch families, and the community has remained solidly attractive even as the metro area encroaches. The “Neighbors of Antioch” (NOA) association is an important element of the town. Formed in 2001, the goal is to make “Antioch a model neighborhood that we can raise our families and be proud to call home,” according to their website. Having a voice in Washington was important as well, and the NOA was recently accepted into the National Neighborhood Coalition, which is consulted on federal issues affecting local neighborhoods. Antioch is also the location of the denominational headquarters of the National Association of Free Will Baptists.

Antioch’s most significant landmark is the beautiful and historic Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Grassmere is historic plantation home that was converted into a grassland wildlife preserve. The Nashville Zoo had formerly been located in Ashland City, but the two entities merged in 1996 and zoo operations were moved to the Grassmere Estate. The Zoo has a total of 200 acres of land and is the site of the “Jungle Gym,” the largest public children’s playground of its type in the U.S. (completed in 1998). The Giraffe Savannah and Alligator Cove are two of the most popular exhibits. But of course everyone wants to see the big cats, so the Snow Leopard area gets a lot of attention as well as the Tigers, Cheetahs and Cougars. The choice of Antioch as the site for the Zoo is a further indication of the family traditional and atmosphere there.

StorPlace has put a lot of thought into the self storage locations we choose. We want them to be as convenient as possible, near shops, restaurants, and recreational areas, and close to residential areas. Our Antioch self storage is a good example. First of all, we chose to buy property next to Hickory Hollow Mall so our customers could have easy access to their car storage or other items. Hickory Hollow Mall has a wide variety of stores and is anchored by the two-story Sears, one of the most highly respected names in retail for over 100 years. The mall includes American Design, Express Men, Bazaar, Ashley Stewart, Shirin Jewelers, the Shoe Dept., an Army National Guard office, August Moon Express, Sport Seasons, Finish Line, Footlocker and more. A series of restaurants front to Bell Rd and Hickory Hollow Lane. Logan’s Roadhouse Restaurant and Bailey’s Irish Pub are two favorites. Arbys, also near the mall, has a new line of cold sandwiches that are a healthy alternative to fried food.

There are musical treasures just up Rte 24 at Canonball Music. Musical equipment requires special treatment self storage. Stringed instruments such as cellos, violins, and guitars need a temperature controlled environment. Studio recording equipment will get ruined in very humid surroundings, and must always be in a cool and dry unit. Although much recording is now done on computers and saved digitally, outboard equipment is still preferred for effects such as reverb, compression, delay, echo, distortion and the like. Many performers prefer their live amplifier sound to the simulated amp sounds in computers. That outboard gear is sensitive and needs to be taken care of. StorPlace Antioch is near other stores, such as Home Depot, Sally Beauty Supply, U-Haul, Wolf Camera and Video supply, and a Miracle Ear Audiology and Hearing Aid Center. Nelson Mazda and Bill Heard Chevrolet will show you a new Corvette that, of course, you will want to put into car storage immediately. Remember, car storage is a pleasant experience at StorPlace Antioch. We are here to meet and exceed your expectations. Whether you want a minimal self storage unit or whether you need some serious furniture storage, Antioch StorPlace is your best option.

Our office is staffed with professionals who understand the industry and what means to need automobile storage or a place to put some items for a while. We also understand that security is very important  to our customers. We want you to be able to sleep well at night knowing your expensive antique book collection will come to no harm while on our watch. Our premises are under surveillance inside and out, all day, every day. So, for the best in self storage, look no further than your own back yard. As one famous movie star said over and over again, “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…” Make StorPlace your home page for self storage and you won’t be disappointed.

StorPlace Murfreesboro self storage has solutions for everyone in Murfreesboro, TN, 37129. For furniture storage there is no better place to hide the extra sofa until you need it or until your move is complete. Car storage is available year round and at StorPlace you can even take advantage of RV storage. We are one of the best in the business because we continually upgrade our facilities. Gone are the days when self storage meant a two car garage on someone else’s lot. Today’s self storage is about space – and lots of it – technologically advanced security, keypadded gates, bright lights and new buildings that have several stories and individual access. Murfreesboro is expanding quickly, and the need for self storage is in demand. We are committed to staying on top of the heap when it comes to customer service, cleanliness and customer support. Come down now and see what we can do for you. Get rid of your unsightly boat during the winter. Our boat storage is second to none. For the sake of your wood furniture and your living space, take that old oak table out of the basement and put it in furniture storage. Your furniture will last longer and you’ll be happy to be able to walk around in the basement again.

We are on 310 N Thompson Lane, just of exit 78 on Interstate 24 and Old Fort Parkway, next to the Old Fort Golf Course. Stop in and see our facility while you problem solve with us about the best options for self storage. Call locally 617-867-1117 or toll-free 1-877-4STORPL to get information now. Our large enclosed garages can fit heavy machinery such as bull dozers and back hoes, as well as other industrial equipment, making them useful for subcontractors in the earth moving business or for landscapers who need space for the trailers and mowing paraphernalia. Those same garages work well for RV storage with doors tall enough let a large motor home pass through. Automobile storage is possible as well.

Between 1990 and 2000, the population of Murfreesboro rose by almost 20,000. That’s a lot of new houses and new families, each with its own specific needs for self storage. With a lot of experience in the industry, we know we have to offer a variety of sizes and styles of units, and we know we have to keep up with the self storage demands of today. As a result, we have units of all sizes, the smallest starting at 5x5, perfect for college students who need a little more space than their crammed dorm rooms provide. A series of midrange units are also available, and you would be shocked to discover how much will actually fit in a 10X10 space. How about 200 files sized boxes? Or the contents of a one bedroom apartment? More and more, people around the country are turning to self storage for temporary needs because it is a low cost, high value alternative to storing at a friend’s house, or throwing stuff away. For that reason, self storage has grown significantly in the 1990 and 2000s. As more people have turned to self storage, standards have risen. Buildings are bigger , safer, and cleaner, and often air conditioned or heated.

Murfreesboro and the 37129 zip code are in Rutherford County south of Nashville. In addition to being a bit too far away from Nashville to be a true suburb, Murfreesboro has good reasons for wanting to segregate itself from its big brother. Murfreesboro was originally settled in 1811 as the county seat for Rutherford and was called Cannonsburgh after a well known politician. Soon after, though, it was renamed after Hardy Murfree, a Revolutionary War hero. As the geographic center of Tennessee, it was perfectly situated to become the state’s capital because it was clear that westward expansion would continue to the Mississippi River. The original choice, Knoxville, was too far east for access from the western part of the state. Thus, Murfreesboro was named the capital city of Tennessee by the state legislature in 1818. Unfortunately, though some may disagree, its reign only lasted 8 years, as Nashville grew more quickly and had access to the Cumberland river, which meets with Ohio River and eventually flows to the Mississippi. By 1826, the capital duties were moved to Nashville, and while Star city became an urban area, Murfreesboro remained an independent town, the county seat, and a stable village for the next 100 years. Massive growth began after WWII, but slowed again until recent times.

Murfreesboro is currently in a boom growth stage. Several large companies have invested headquarters there, State Farm for instance has their technological office there, and the Veterans Administration established a center in town. The VA is in the process of testing a new internet project designed to distribute prescriptions to veterans via internet service, which will reduce paperwork and costs allow drug to be delivered more efficiently. The current population according to a 2007 census is about 92,000. Murfreesboro is also the location of Middle Tennessee State University. The college is undergraduate only, and at 22,000 students, has the largest undergraduate class of any college in Tennessee. Located downtown, college students can walk to stores and restaurants, and have become an integral part of the economy and the town. The college also provides an economic base for Murfreesboro, employing 1,700 people in solid jobs. The Rutherford County Government Center is the largest employer with 3,350 workers. The Verizon Wireless call center employs 1,083 folks.

As a smallish city, Murfreesboro has a lot to offer, and in 2006 Money magazine voted in the 84th best place to live in the country (cities over 50,000 op.) because of its low crime statistics, low unemployment rate, standard of living and cultural activities. The subdued topography of the area is part of the Nashville Basin which is marked to west by the rise of the Cumberland Plateau and to the west by a series of hills and ridges. Its location in the basin made it an important strategic area in the Civil War, where the battle of Stones River was fought. After the battle, the Confederacy ceded control of central Tennessee to the Union. The sense of history remains, though, thanks in large part to several memorial parks, including the Stones River National Battlefield which was established in the early 1900s. The Stones River Civil War Cemetery contains the bodies of soldiers lost in the regional struggle between North and South. American History, however, extends backwards in time, and the frontier spirit of pioneers is commemorated in Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village. A living monument, Pioneer Village is a complete reconstruction of an original settler’s town. Actors represent original pioneers, and there are numerous events, such as a town fair, that illustrate what life was like in the early days of the country. A hard life, no doubt, whose travails have brought us to where we are now. Life is much different now, and one can be assured that there were no such things as Jazz Festivals in Cannonsburgh. Today, however, visitors come from all around the region to Murfreesboro for the annual Murfreesboro Jazz Festival sponsored by the Music Department at Middle Tennessee State U.

Murfreesboro is a working town with a solid base of citizens. The normal range of shops make up the commercial section of town while chain stores have moved in as population has grown. Local shops include the Fireworks Supermarket, Hibbett’s Sporting Goods, Play It Again Sports and Bink’s Outfitters. People golf at the Old Fort Golf Club or the Stones River Country Club. Moe’s Southwest Grill serves up Mexican meals, Sushin had Japanese cuisine and Jason’s Deli is a local favorite. Thompson’s lane is commercial artery, and most of these businesses are near StorPlace Murfreesboro. Also nearby is Marshall’s, Old Navy and Hobbytown USA.

If you are moving to town and building a new house, look up StorPlace for self storage. Building house is not an exact science and there are sometimes delays in completion. For those times, it’s good to have furniture storage. And don’t forget to put your old Studebaker in automobile storage when you arrive. You wouldn’t to ruin the classic by leaving it outside in the occasional snowstorm. People love to water and jet ski, but it’s best to put those toys in boat storage for the winter. You can visit our facility anytime or call to find out more about how we can obviate the need to build a new shed or make more storage at home. We’ll see you there!

Hello and welcome to our self storage web site for the Murfreesboro Rd area of Nashville, TN in the 37129 zip code. We want to tell you something about ourselves and about the area we serve. We want you to know that we are a self storage company that is founded on sound principles, and in business that means the customer is the most important person in the world at any given time. Let’s face it, without you, we have no reason to exist, and if we can’t please you, we won’t exist for very long. So far, we have done it successfully since 1974, and we plan to continue to do so for many years to come. The Murfreesboro Rd. area is south and east and of the Nashville International Airport and services the residential communities of Smith Springs, Una and parts of Antioch, as well more urban areas to the north closer to downtown Nashville with self storage of all sizes and types. We are a furniture storage specialist and recognize the value of car storage. Call 615-361-1000 to speak to us now. Our proximity to the Anderson Road Public Use Area, which has a public boat ramp, makes StorPace a convenient for Nashville boat storage as well. The Anderson Road and Hamilton Creek Public areas are part of the J. Percy Priest Lake system, a man made body of water developed by the Army Corps of Engineers 1968.

The Corps dammed the Stones River in 1968 as part of Flood Control legislation passed in 1946 to help towns develop areas near rivers that often rise over the banks. With the water controlled, it was possible to build the airport and the residential enclaves near the new lake. Smith Springs is a result of this operation. The area is also known for the scenic Nashboro Village Golf Course, and we have customers who store their golf equipment along with other outdoor sports items in self storage for the colder months.

StorPlace is the ultimate solution for storing fishing and camping gear as well as your putting your new watercraft in boat storage. You can store a 19’ foot boat with trailer and have room left for gas tanks and flotation devices. Batteries, coolers and water skis will fit nicely into self storage. If you want to get your hands on a new Gulfstream or BassTracker with a 90 horse Johnson 4-cycle, but live in an apartment and have no room for it, leave it in boat storage and access it any time. To buy some professional or amateur gear, take a ride to a lcoal Bass Pro Shop. There’s one at 323 Opry Mills Dr, Nashville, TN, 37214, and another on Gallatin Ave. Find yourself a super cool Shimano casting reel, or a Daiwa, Quantum, Zebco, or Pflueger to outfit a Johnnie Morris Signature Series rod. As long as you know where the fish are and have the right setup you will be bringing home some fish for supper. Service your boat at JR’s Marine Sales and Service or Lakeshore Marine. After day of fishing or just floating on the water with family and friends, trailer the ship back to StorPlace and put it back in boat storage. And no need to worry, our security system will ensure that it will be ready to go tomorrow at sunrise or sunset; ready when you are.

Nashville is less than a day’s drive from the Great Smokey Mountains. Camping there is a favorite past time of folk looking for a break from the rat race and urban streets. Camping comfortably requires some good gear, generally consisting of tents, air mattresses, sleeping bags, portable stoves, coolers, portable communication device, water carriers, and cooking utensils. Wilson Sporting Goods, just a couple of miles from Murfreesboro self storage, had a good selection of quality equipment at a reasonable cost. A gear outfit is important when, but it’s only useful sometimes. Mostly, it takes up space in your apartment or your home. Remember to get it out of the way when not camping by keeping it at self storage. If instead of camping, you pefer to take long trips in your motor home, RV storage can be a good way to keep your rolling apartment in good shape when it’s time to return to the grind of work. Remedial maintenance is far more costly than preventative measures when it comes to sophisticated machinery. The Murfreesboro lot sits in front of British Woods Apartments on Britishwood Dr and Hampton Chase Apartments on nearby Borowood Dr. Both apartment complexes are within walking distance. Old Fort Golf Course is adjacent to our self storage Murfreesboro Rd, and the Nashboro Village Apartments are part of that course. People living there almost have a detached garage for furniture storage. A stroll around the grounds brings you to our doorstep.

Residents in the Smith Springs area enjoy a high standard of living. They are within shooting distance of downtown Nashville but live on quiet suburban streets a stone’s throw from J. Percy Priest Lake. A vertical landscape makes for curvy roads and established trees keep home shady and visually interesting. A locally favorite eatery is the 101st Airborne Restaurant. Mentioned in most guides such as Fodor’s, the diner serves American food with a twist. Their beer cheese soup is an original concoction. The grounds are pock-marked with old war machinery. A WWII ambulance languishes in the grass behind the diner, while a fighter plane and a DC-10 stand proudly on the back yard. You can climb around the planes and try to feel what it was like to fly one in the war, the horror of oncoming enemies, the glory of winning a battle. Murfreesboro Pike is loaded with pizza shops as well. Domino’s Pizza, which is a delivery only service, starts off the parade, while Papa John’s Pizza and Emiliano’s real Italian pizzeria finish it. If you’re not in the mood for Pizza, visit Raz’z Bar & Grill and Jersey Mike’s for some super pub food.

Self storage is not only important for the homeowner, but for the small business own as well. Today’s internet commerce sites are popping up like mad. A single individual can become an affiliate of Amazon.com by merchandising goods and selling them from Amazon (or other internet retailers). Most Ebay sellers, however, stock their own goods after making wholesale purchases. Though it can be financially rewarding, a single seller has limited place for stock. So does the small book store or stationery shop. Self storage in Murfreesboro can easily and cost-effectively be an extra stock room. A small business can fit an amazing amount of stock in a small unit just 5x5 in size, while a 10x10 can handle up to 200 average sized boxes. That’s a lot of inventory to sell with a very low overhead. The important thing is that a small business may not need a full-sized warehouse, and internet businesses don’t need a storefront. This makes self storage the best solution for inventory surplus.

One never knows when a great wholesale deal will come along, and having the self storage to put it in means you won’t have to miss the deal because of dimensional inadequacy. Even better, though, StorPlace accepts deliveries, so you can have something shipped directly to your self storage address with no worries and no hassle at home. The Murfreesboro Rd. location is particularly suited for such activities because it is so close to the Nashville airport. By the time a shipment arrives by plane, it is almost already in the storage unit. Every major shipping company has a depot in Nashville and most of them are near the airport. Furthermore, when you need to make a large shipment or delivery, you can rent a truck from Budget Truck Rental or Uhaul, both of which share property with our StorPlace Murfreesboro Rd location. This is just one our attempts to make your life easier through self storage. And, we have the staff that can make it all happen. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call 615-361-1000 to get started.  Whether you are a business or a local resident, you can use more room. Cars take up a lot of room, and automobile storage can remedy that problem. RV can ruin the view of your yard, but RV storage restores your backyard to functionality. We even have enviro- units in which you can place things like a wine collection that need to be stored at a particular temperature. If you think about it, there is no storage problem we can’t solve, except maybe for airplanes collections or jumbo jet protection. All jokes aside, we want to be your self storage choice and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you came back.

The Hermitage self storage facility is conveniently situated at 3986 Central Pike near J. Percy Pierce Lake in the 37076 zip. Also near the Summit Medical Center and a short drive from Nashville International Airport, StorPlace Hermitage self storage and automobile storage is nearby graduate students at one of Nashville’s Universities who live in the eastern suburb of the city.  Summit Medical Center is a vital economic driver and care provider for the Hermitage community. Established I 1994 as an expansion of the Donelson Hospital, Summit is well known for its cancer research and care division, and for its cardiac center. The specialists who work at the center live in the homes and apartments in Hermitage. The center has given rise to a series of external offices for doctors in a variety of specialties. For example, Katherine Hoeft, M.D. and Jonda W. Young, MD, each have offices on Central Pike and First Blvd, right outside the center. Summit Center gave rise to a series of smaller care facilities in the area, including but not limited to Summit Primary Care, which specializes in pediatrics, Healing Waters Nashville, a hydrotherapy alternative healing business, and the Summit Audiology and Hearing Aid Center at 1313 Central Court. Hermitage is in the 37076 zip code and is the eastern outpost of the Nashville metro government umbrella. Off rte 40 about 10 miles east of Nashville proper, Hermitage is on the way to the more rural town of Lebanon, TN.

Hermitage itself is a mixture of people, styles, new growth and long standing traditions. Its main claim to fame is The Hermitage mansion, the former home of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. A stunning Grecian-style building, the mansion and grounds are the fourth most visited presidential home in the country. Other than a tornado outburst that toppled a series of cedar trees that Jackson himself planted in the early 1800s, the Hermitage has remained the in its original condition since 1889 when it was converted to a museum for the public to commemorate the life of Jackson and to act as a representation of life in the Antebellum south. The Hermitage was the center of Jackson’s family plantation and in its hay day was a working farm with over 1,000 acres of land and 44 slaves. The mansion was not destroyed during the Civil War, as many others were. The presidential home, however, had been destroyed once due to fire long before the war. Jackson rebuilt the mansion in its current style. The grounds are a mass of gardens and walking paths and contain the tombs of Jacks, his wife Rachel and their two children. It is rather a memorial to the family, and in that regard a somewhat somber museum. The gardens are staggeringly beautiful and a stunning example of southern horticulture.

While many tourists visit Hermitage to see Jackson’s former homestead, many locals from Nashville and the surrounding area to visit the J. Percy Pierce Dam and lake recreation area, which is a busy watersports and fishing location. The lake is surrounded on all sides by public parkes and picnic areas. As a government sponsored and built lake area, there is very little development along the lake, so it remains scenic. StorPlace Hermitage self storage is located near the northern boundary of the lake, which is highlighted by the J. Percy Priest Dam. Originally a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project, construction was completed in 1968, four years after it started. The dam blocks the Stones River, which is a tributary of the Cumberland River, which flows through Nashville and all of the Cumberland Valley. Previous to the dam, the Stones River was prone to frequent flooding. The Flood Control Act of 1946 called for remediation to the Stones River flood problem. Although it took over 20 years for the dam to be commissioned and built, the resulting flood control opened the door for new growth in the form of residential and commercial areas. Hermitage expanded quickly into the flood plain and has become a busy suburb, although its geography of hills and valleys keeps development from overwhelming the natural scenery. The dam also contains a hydroelectric power plant which supplies energy to the area and that helps keep the area from being entirely dependent on fossil fuel electric production. This aids in maintaining good air quality.

Hermitage is also a whistle stop on the newly formed Music City Star Rail line that runs between Lebanon and Nashville with renovated Amtrak locomotives and rail cars culled from the Chicago Metra service. The Star, so named for the star shaped service it plans around Nashville and for the preponderance of country music stars in Nashville, is an experiment of sorts, designed to prove the usefulness and benefits of public transportation in the metro area. The train went on line in 2006, and was the first train service in the area since Amtrak’s Floridian service ended in 1979. The tracks are from the old Tennessee Central Railway Service, which had moved passengers since the 1960s. The establishment of the railway secures Hermitage as an important part of Nashville. Among the ranks of businesses there is the technology headquarters of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu accounting firm, the largest auditing firm in the country. The office there is over 200,000 square feet, and there are over 1,000 employees. Between the accounting firm and Summit Medical Center, Hermitage has a healthy economy and an increasingly vital residential population.

StorPlace Hermitage is in proximity to the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd and Central Pike about a mile to the east. There are all sorts of eateries in which to enjoy a meal. Try Panera Bread Co., originally the St. Louis Bread Company, for a Panini sandwich or a mocha latte with whipped cream. Oddly enough, Panera is still called the St. Louis Bread Co. in St. Louis. Shops in other cities were called Panera to avoid confusion. “Pan” is the romance language Latin root of the word “bread.” They are known for their specialty bagels, like the Asiago cheese bagel and the Apple Crumb bagel. Taki Japanese Cuisine is on Hickory Blvd. They serve fresh sushi and sashimi, udon, or teriyaki beef. The Royal Thai Restaurant and Cinco de Mayo, named after the Mexican Holiday on May 15th, serve excellent Asian and Mexican food, and Gyros Pizza features the Greek Specialty Gyro, a fried pita wrapped around lamb or pork with tomatoes, onions and Tzatziki sauce. StorPlace Hermitage is on the same lot as Hermitage Budget Truck Rental where you can rent a box truck or pickup to move your belongings to and from your new house. StorPlace is between three apartment complexes, the Colonnade Apartments, Margaret Robertson Garden Apartments, and Burning Tree Apartments. Residents there often use extra space for car storage or boat storage, and especially furniture storage. Nurses and medical professionals are highly sought after, and also move a lot because of opportunities elsewhere. Self storage allows them to move all of their stuff even if they can’t find an apartment as large as the last house they lived in.

Self storage can be an excellent short-term problem solver for executives who are suddenly relocated and need time find the right home for their families. With the advent of the Star City Rail Line, apartment dwellers with no garage and not much use for their cars can put them in automobile storage at StorPlace. We feature quiet clean buildings and protection from burglars in the form of a code operated metal gates that only allow authorized individuals to enter. Our staff can help with packing materials and we provide dollys and carts so you won’t break your back putting items in self storage. Furniture storage of antiques can be accomplished in one of our temperature-controlled spaces. Antique dealers take advantage of our units to stock recent items from estate sales that aren’t quite ready for the market. Automobile collectors use car storage to isolate old cars from weather events. Whether you need RV storage, furniture storage or car storage, StorPlace can accommodate your needs. Our specialists are on hand to inform you of your options. We take pride in our customer service, and we belive that is what separates from other self storage companies. Come and enjoy our hometown service. Call 1-877-4STORPL to find out more. Local callers can reach us directly at 615-871-4888. Hermitage is a town with a character all its own, and we are a company that strives to maintain our own small town character. Make your self storage a positive experience. StorPlace of South Nashville is the self storage of choice for southern Nashville. The greater Nashville Metro area has been recognized as one of the fastest growing areas of the U.S. As of 2005 its regional population was about 1,400,000. The city itself contributes about half of the population. A multi-faceted city, Nashville is rife with areas that have their own traditions, geography, ethnic backgrounds and religious institutions. Traveling south from downtown on Nolensville Road one passes through South Nashville on the way to Nolensville, a rural town that has not yet become a suburb of the city. While downtown Nashville is urban in nature and full of the energy that gives Star City its reputation for excitement, South Nashville becomes increasingly country.

The hills grow larger, the population density falls, the trees get larger and before long one has passed out of the metro area and into different time and place. Ironically, some places within the city limits, such as South Nashville, are less urban than some nearby suburban towns that are not under the aegis of the City Government. South Nashville encompasses the most distant limits of the metro area, and sometimes feels like the countryside that surrounds the city. In several areas, rock outcroppings limit development and signal the end of the Nashville Basin, the geographic depression in which Nashville is situated. Typically, Bell Rd. and Old Hickory Blvd., which are contiguous, signify the end of suburban and the beginning of country. Residents who live along this border are treated to the finest of suburban living and despite being on the southern edge of the city, are still quite connected to it via the southern branch of the metro area rail system.

The South Nashville branch of StorPlace is right on that border. The property is at 14985 Old Hickory Blvd and sits in the 37211 zip code. Old Hickory Blvd/Bell Rd. is a commercial artery that runs along the southern edge of the city and supports the suburban population there. The area has a complete array of stores and services. Fro example, Storplace is adjacent to Waffle House and Burger King. Waffle House is famous for fresh food, quick service and breakfast all day long. Sir Pizza is just east of StorPlace, and is the Nashville chain with both delivery and a seating area. Nolensville Road is also strewn with restaurants like Jonathan’s Grill at 5805 Nolensville Pike, which will cook up a fabulous home cooked meal in minutes. For Mexican food, try the upscale dining experience at La Terraza. The ambiance and original take on food at a fine restaurant can soothe the senses and force us to relax after a tough day. Locals know that Krystal at 5750 Nolensville Pike can achieve this goal. Residents in South Nashville don’t need to go far to see a movie either, as Hickory Hollow Cinemas are east on Bell Rd. NADDCO Information Technology Services can solve business problems, and Volunteer Beauty Inc. can redo your hair with style.

Everyone knows that some of the most avid sports fans live in the suburbs of big cities. Nashville is home to the Tennessee Titans pro football team, and every Sunday groups of tailgaters head to the Adelphia Coliseum for a little R&R and some hard-nosed football. Titans fans are some of the most dedicated in the country, and that’s no surprise considering the team was welcomed with open arms from the Texas city of Houston. Prior to 1996, the Titans were called the Oilers, and had been in Houston, the city of oil, since its inception. The Oilers of the 1970s were famous for the Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell, one of a few running backs to rush for over 2,000 in a season. In the 1990s, however, the franchise was seeking a new stadium and could not come to an agreement with the city. It turned to Nashville, where local voters approved the construction of a new stadium. The deal was struck in 1996 and by 1997 the team was playing in Tennessee as the Tennessee Oilers. They played the 1997 season at the Liberty Bowl, and the 1998 season at the Vanderbilt University arena.

By 1998 the new stadium was complete and a name change approved. The 1999 season brought success to the city, but it was the 2000 push for the Superbowl that brought the franchise renewed fame. Led by quarterback Steve McNair, running back Eddie George, and receiver Kevin Dyson on the offensive side, and by tackle Jevon Kearse on the defensive side, the team rolled through the divisional and conference playoffs to face the St. Louis Rams in a regional battle in the Superbowl. The Rams’ high-powered offense had put everyone to shame that year, but the Titans played tough and with time running out trailed by a touchdown. A last-minute pass from McNair to Dyson, and a tragic and desperate run towards to the end zone saw Dyson come within a foot of the end line for a tying touchdown in one of the most thrilling endings in championship football history. Fans that couldn’t make it to the game watched at home and in bars and some even pulled their tailgating gear out for some cold weather barbecuing.

Tailgating is a great pastime in this country, but it requires a lot of equipment to be done right. Many fans put their portable grills, coolers, Titans towels, blankets and propane tanks in self storage during the week and pull it out on Sunday for the game. Sometimes they’ve already rented the space for boat storage or car storage, and double up on its usefulness. At StorPlace we want to be your home for self storage. Whether you’re a Titans fan or a classic car collector, we have a unit that is the right size for you. South Nashville residents will appreciate the time we take to make self storage as easy as casting a line for bass walking the dog and as secure as money in the bank. What you put in self storage today will be there tomorrow. Our toll free phone number, 1-877-4STORPL, makes the phone call a couple of push buttons away.

Nashville has a healthy student population. Trevecca Nazarene University (TNU) is near the northern border of South Nashville and a short ride down Nolensville Rd. With 2,300 plus students, Trevecca is a mid-sized college with some graduate programs. Affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, the University sponsors 13 academic departments, including English, Communications, Music, human performance, Nursing, Psychology and Human Social and Behavioral Sciences. Its lone doctoral program is in Education. It has a School of Business, a school of Education and a School of Religious Studies that features a Master’s Degree program. The school was founded 107 years ago by J. O. McLurkan, and became affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene in 1917. Originally downtown, it settled in its current location in 1935. The original site became the location of the now famous Ryman Auditorium. TNU is one of eight Nazarene Colleges in the country. It represents the “Southeast Region” of the loosely formed network. Though the regions are not contiguous with the normal national regional terminology, the separate schools have a general agreement not to recruit students from other Nazarene regions. Like many college students, TNU students sometimes need to take advantage of self storage because of transient housing situations and limited space. Students use StorPlace for furniture storage and for putting away winter or summer clothing or files and textbooks from previous classes. Some students need car storage, as parking is always limited on college campus, and car can go without use for periods of time.

The Nazarene campus is small enough to walk to the necessary buildings most of the time. While students usually need limited space, families will rent larger units to accommodate anything from a boat to an RV. RV storage is limited, so be sure to reserve space in advance, especially if you know when you will need it. We will do our absolute best to find you RV storage in our self storage network. For other self storage, call us to find out what unit would be most appropriate for you. If you describe what you have, we will calculate the space you need. You’d be very surprised at how many items you can fit in a 10X10 garage. When space is dedicated for storage, it’s a lot easier to organize items by putting the least used at the back and the rest in the front. Call our local number 615-832-3388, or stop by 14985 Old Hickory Blvd to see our facility today.

Franklin, TN is a bedroom community on the outskirts of Nashville. As the county seat for Williamson County, Franklin bustles during the week and sleepy on Sunday afternoons. Franklin is one of those places that attracts the best and the brightest from the nearby city. Like Greenwich, CT, Franklin is loaded with stars and executives from the music industry and other enterprises. Williamson County is one of the wealthiest in the country, and as the county seat, Franklin follows suit. To say that it is a desirable place to live would be an understatement. Franklin is truly a rural postcard with out the disadvantage of being in the middle of nowhere. On the contrary, Franklin has all the modern conveniences in addition to easy access to downtown Nashville and its business and cultural activities.

The whole of Franklin is scenic. From the historic downtown Main St. to the old plantation homes outside of town, the city retains its colonial southern roots. Cobbled streets and brick storefronts beckon a simpler time. Its rolling hills blaze with turning leaves in the fall. Streams run from the ridges in the surrounding landscape, and homes built in the 1800s rest with leisure in the meadows outside the business district. An interesting history can sometimes keep a town from becoming too commercial or modern. Franklin’s, having been founded in 1799, has a well traveled past with roots deep in southern traditions and events. Although the population is estimated at 55,000, most of the growth has been well planned and residences have been built with plenty of green space in the field and woods surrounding the county seat. Many of the families living in Franklin are descended from settlers and soldiers in the Civil War.

Prior to the Civil War, Franklin was largely a traditional farming and hunting community, with an elite group serving as local government agents and business men. It was a town like many others whose life was relatively uneventful. It was, wealthy, though, having since been recognized as the center of the plantation economy in Tennessee. Large plantations fueled the local economy and a busy social life welcomed young debutants. The Civil War wreaked havoc on the town, and as it was the center of plantation life, it also became central to the war. There were many battles fought in or near the area and young men from the community went to fight, as they did all over the nation. Union troops occupied the area for three years during this time, which put a halt to much of the way of life there. In 1864, the warring sides waged the Battle of Franklin, a devastating conflict during which 8,000 lives were lost and during which the Confederate Army suffered one of its worst defeats of the war. Shortly afterwards, the Confederate Army lost in the battle of Nashville. Those two losses effectively ended the participation of the Tennessee Army in the War. At this time, most of the available space in Franklin was converted into hospital space to deal with the teems of injured soldiers from the Battle of Franklin. As on person put it, the Battle wasn’t the beginning of the end of the war in Tennessee, it was the end of the end.

Franklin was one of many southern towns crushed during the war. It took a century to rebuild the economy, but as it once was, Franklin is a peaceful and wealthy place again. Franklin’s appeal hasn’t been lost on regional folks. The list of famous people who live there is as long as the many unknown success stories who have migrated there. Some of the most well known country stars of today and yesterday are residents, including Alan Jackson, Sarah Evans and classic crooner George Jones. Rockers Sheryl Crow and Michael McDonald (formerly of the Doobie Brothers) both own homes there, as does NASCAR hero Darrell Walltrip. Tennessee Titans footballer Adam “Pacman” Jones makes Franklin his home, and film and recording star Ashley Judd also lives in town. Despite its star power, Franklin has a diverse base. Houses range from the mansion to the old colonial downtown, and real estate values, though above average for the area, range from $100,000 to several million. In all, the community is far enough away from Nashville to have its own character, but close enough to draw people out from the city. Many consider this type of suburban neighborhood to be the cream of the crop.

Your local StorPlace self storage is on Hwy 96 just west of downtown. It is there that people rent boat storage and car storage. With a growing population, Franklin’s storage needs is also expanding. StorPlace is growing too to meet those needs. Our facility reflects the self storage desires of Franklin, offering large RV storage type spaces and smaller furniture storage bins. The buildings are multi-storied and dry, with HVAC systems designed to make self storage comfortable and safe for all kinds of items. Boating on the Harpeth River, which runs through town, is popular, and people will put their watercraft in boat storage for the off season to keep them in good condition. One of the more popular needs is automobile storage. Classic cars and sports cars should both be kept inside to avoid having their value decrease.

Franklin is far from devoid of contemporary conveniences. Cool Springs Galleria is a regional mall outside of town. Careful planning brought the shopping center within reach of Franklin residents without infringing on the historic part of town. With 141 stores, the Galleria is one of the largest retail malls in the country. Self storage is an important part of shopping and remodeling. When you’re done picking up a new living room set at Macy’s, put the old one in furniture storage until you sell it. Self storage is an important part of quality living. It can seem like your house is getting smaller and smaller as we accumulate merchandise.

Today, we update our appliances, electronics, and furniture more often than we used to. The availability of affordable but quality goods makes it easier to do so. Self storage can let you store the outdated stuff until summer when it’s yard sale season. When you play Gin Rummy, you have to discard a card. Inevitably someone picks up that card and makes use of it. The same is true of our old items. Yard sales are the traditional way to recycle unwanted furniture or appliances. After the renovation, take the old ceiling fans and end tables, put them in self storage, and sell them in the spring to someone who needs them. You can make some money in the process, and in the meantime, your house and garage aren’t filled with boxes of unused dishes and wine glasses. Along the same lines, why not put your ski boat into boat storage for the winter. The boat will stay in better condition and the yard will seem larger and more graceful without the eyesore of a boat with shrink wrap on it ruining the view. One of the most common failures in a boat are the cables that control the engine and the steering cable. They need to be greased up every year, and kept out of the elements as much as possible. Boat storage can protect these working parts from corrosion and eventual failure.

There’s nothing worse than getting your boat out for the first time, getting ready to crank it up and finding out the steering cable is frozen and the engine won’t turn. Your motor home or RV also takes up a lot of space on the property. At StorPlace Franklin, you can put it in RV storage when you’re not using it. Very few people live in their RVs. Most of us take a coupe of trips a year and then let it sit. A vehicle that sits for a long period of time is the target of decay. When not in use, vehicles should be kept inside. A cover is good, but it won’t protect the tires and rubber hoses from the deteriorating effects of the weather. For this same reason, automobile storage is an important element to maintaining a car.

Franklin, TN, is a great place to live and work. With its downtown trolley, historic buildings and layout, Civil War Reenactments, and new Skater Park, and the now annual Franklin Jazz Festival, it has become a worldly town, despite its rural nature. StorPlace self storage is the premier facility for making extra room in your life and for the family with an active lifestyle. Call 1-877-4STORPL to schedule an appointment today.

StorPlace Bellevue at 7332 Tolbert Rd., just off Old Hickory Rd, is the best self storage solution to your storage problems and is near the central shopping and dining areas in the 37209 zip code. StorPlace accommodates the need for RV storage, as well as car storage and boat storage, and strives to make these experiences positive. Furniture storage is sometimes necessary, and our smaller units are great for living room sets or the contents of an apartment. The suburban Bellevue community has become part of Nashville. At one time, however, it was a small village that served the farming industry outside of the city. Located on the rail line, Bellevue was the depot stop for trains delivering feed, fertilizers, seeds, machinery and other farming necessities. The town also supplied living needs, such as clothes and food, and had a hardware store a post office and a Masonic lodge.

The town remained mostly unchanged until the post-WWII period when Nashville began to spread out. Still, however, the town center was largely unchanged in the 1960s. Of course, growth was universal to small towns on the outskirts of cities, and Bellevue was no exception. By the 1970s, the Nashville city residential area had reached Bellevue and Rte. 70S was expanded into a four lane road. Farmland had begun to be developed into suburban neighborhoods. The telling moment was the takeover of the Bellevue post office by the Nashville postal system and the incorporation of the 37209 zip code into the city government. The coming of the post-war boomers meant growth in commercial activity in the area. Along the way, several parks were established, including the Harpeth River Park, which runs along the Harpeth River, and Harpeth Knoll Park. Harpeth Valley Elementary School was the inspiration and setting for the country song “Harper Valley PTA,” later made into a film of the same name starring Barbara Eden of “I Dream of Genie” fame. The film illustrates the battle between a liberal single mother, Stella Johnson, and the conservative school board of Harper Valley.
